Why don't our suppliers inform their customers about steeping?

I see post after post here in the forum with people complaining about horrible tasting, hand-mixed juice. About juice that tastes nothing like the bottle they just finished, etc. Wouldn't you think that juice suppliers would put a note into every order explaining the *Possibility of Steeping** to bring out the best flavors in some juices?

If I were a supplier, I would make sure every customer knew the steps to make my juice be all that it could be. Why would suppliers want so many people thinking the juice is bad, or the recipe has changed, or the supplier is trying to pull a fast one one them?

This is a responsibility of suppliers. Fortunately, the other members here at ECF save the behinds of many hand-crafted juice suppliers. I only use hand-mixed juices. I use three different suppliers. Not one of them has ever said a word or put a note into my order about the possible benefits of steeping a juice. Not one!!

Rant done. Sorry for the rant.

This made me think of the old Army slogan but with a relative twist to apply to vaping. "Be all that you can be, in the PV". lol

Let it ride Vapenstein... at least until Jerry tries his month-old BwB Maple Tobacco & posts the (predictable) results...?

Scott, I had a bottle of BWB Vanilla Bean that had been sitting around for a few weeks. I tried that first and the flavor was so much better than when I had used a fresh bottle. I'm convinced now that steeping does work, at least for some flavors. Go back a few pages and you will see my post on the Vanilla Bean.

LOL - I like it!

Didn't realize it while I was typing that rant. Good eye. Maybe some supplier will pick up on it and actually inform their customers - LOL . (that's wishful thinking)

Why Do The People On Your ECF Forum Suggest I Let My Liquids Sit For A Week Before I Use Them?

Tasty Vapor mixes every single liquid fresh, from scratch. So, unlike the stuff you may get from another vendor which has likely had time to sit on a shelf for a while, ours hasn't had any time for the flavors to "steep". Some flavors are great and ready to go and get even better, there are flavors, more particularly any "creamy" flavor, may take a good week to steep for you to taste the full depth of the liquid.

They probably don't want to respond to emails all day about steeping to noobs & chance the risk of losing a sale. I know I know, they will get a complaint afterwords but hey, in the end the seller got paid. If only sellers would make batches & not release them for sale until one month after it was made, but with all the flavors these sellers are trying to sell, it's not practical to pre brew them up. I'm sure some flavors would sit on a shelf collecting dust for a long period of time before selling if they were to ever sell at all. Just line my pockets with cash first & then I'll deal with complaints.

That has been my experience, too, although I've not had anything for that length of time. I wonder if what some people are perceiving as the improvement in their juice is in actuality the fact that the flavor is degrading out of it; in other words, the flavor was blech, so as the flavor degrades and fades, it gets better.

This could be correct. Most juice suppliers add in about 15-20% flavoring taking into consideration burned-out taste buds and that a majority of ppl like strong flavoring. A nice 10% blend is what rocks my cradle. Exception (for me) being bubblegum flavoring. I pay a little more for my Capella's DIY flavors, but I think it is as cost-efficient in the long run, considering (most importantly) that I have total, absolute control over the strength of flavoring and also that they don't need steeping; furthermore, they are always spot on. And steeping for longer than a week or two? If anyone does that on the norm, I would sure suggest pouring it into a glass bottle before doing so. Just my 2 cents, fwiw.

I agree that "steeping" for 1-3 days can improve some flavors and maybe the poll results would have been different if you had added that third category. This nonsense about juice "steeping" for 9 months and a vendor selling it for more is just another con job! Flavorings only last from 3 months to a year at the longest so it will be fun to see all the complaints when this takes effect. LOL

On the whole I agree with everything you've said. I only have one question for you. Ever ordered a tobacco juice from Backwoods or Halo? In my experience they go through dramatic to mild but noticeable changes from 2-3 weeks after being uncapped once out of the mail.

i've never been one to steep. but my last order from bwb - casablanca - tasted awful, just downright nasty. i had some other people try it and they got the same thing - disgusting. for whatever reason i didn't throw it out. after about 2 weeks i tried it again - s'wonderful.

i've had plenty of others that were nasty and never got any better. and not all juices need any time, but some definitely do.

Vape, no I don't vape tobacco flavors so that could be true for those. It makes me wonder what some suppliers put in their juice if it needs to be steeped for longer than a few days. What really gets me is the vendor that seems to think 6-9 months will make a juice better and worth more money! All anyone has to do to "steep" their juice is put it in smaller containers after shaking. There really is no need to wait long and it's a joke to read some of the vendors' posts. Do they really think they have something so special? For heaven's sake, all it is is flavoring, nicotine and PG/VG. At least that's what is said on one vendor's site that insists he adds nothing but those four ingredients yet his customers keep logs of when they can vape his creations! I hate to see people fall for this nonsense and that's why I say steeping isn't necessary. As you pointed out, there may be exceptions but not as many as people are being led to believe. IMO
