I really don't get the people who insist TC is more work or more complicated compared to VW mode

step 1: wrap and install coil
step 2: wick & fill tank or drip
step 3: set max wattage appropriate to your build and work up the temp till you find your sweet spot like you would set the wattage in VW mode (you'll know these values by heart soon enough once you start using it), and voila, you're done.

What's so different in this process from using VW mode?

To me there are no downsides, only benefits, and a much more ejoyable, smoother vape to boot.

You guys are missing out.

So those of you who hate TC, do you object to having an oven that maintains a constant temperature or a thermostat on your heater, as well?

Chapter 1. Mech vs Regulated
Chapter 2. VV vs VW
Chapter 3. VW vs TC
Stay tuned for the next installment of "It Ain't Broke Don't Fix It."
Well put sir.

Like train, it doesnt impact me. I've used it quite a few times, but could take it or leave it.
Some people like cruise control, some don't.

For me, TC is worthless/pointless, for other folks it is the best thing since sliced bread.

vaping = being able to make choices that best suit each individuals personal preferences.
No right or wrong, no such thing as good, better or best way to vape.

No reason to defend your preferred method or belittle others preferences because their preferred method is different from yours.

My way is better than your way + analogies & examples = end of rational discussion.

I'm sure TC is very awesome for some. I'm glad it came into the scene, and will be glad when other new methods come into play, whether I use them or not.

My skills building with Kanthal were basically honed before TC hit the market. I did fool around with it a bit just to see what it was all about, but I didn't see any potential for improvement (for me). Granted I didn't have any of the issues it's supposed to address. It just seemed like the long way around what I can already achieve faster with VW, not because it's an inferior method, but because my skill set is Kanthal-based. I have no urge to put the effort into honing another method to replace a method that already works. Power is where I'm cozy, so Power is where I'll stay.

I may get crucified for the title question, but I can't help but often think temp control is pointless!

I guess I fishing to see if anyone else thinks about this, and if I'm in a minority having this thought....

I like TC because my coil instantly gets up to temperature and then the power levels off and the temp stays the same. I get a nice warm vape and great flavor but the vape doesn't get hotter it just stays where I set it. I think the big reason people hate TC is because of NI200 and the first TC mods where not the greatest (DNA 40 anyone?). Now there's multiple wires you can use (I use 316L) and mods have improved greatly. If the vape isn't warm enough something isn't right. Just my :2c:

I think this debate is kind of funny, as we could just replace VW with VV and TC with VW and have almost same arguments that we had a few years ago when VW was starting to replace VV. Like what has already been said, whatever works for ya.

We can go way back and remember the mech guys saying that VW was just a fad . Heck some of the guys I know refuse to admit that VW is just as good as a mech. You'll need a series box mod with a VTC4 to beat a DNA 200 and even then factoring voltage drop you won't be getting 200 watts.

I think TC is a sales gimmick and overated...
Its not available on the high-end Provari mods because Provape states TC is unproven..I agree..
All my VW mods has aTC mode but I don't need or use it..I only drip on my mechs these days and no TC needed there either..I know when it's time to re-drip and can see when the juice is low in my tanks..
TC? Might work for others but I don't use it at all..just sayin

Childish, trolling, or not, what gets me is less what you use. I don't care what you use. Short of illegal or immoral abuses, I don't care how you use it. What chaps my hide, though, are reviewers that dismiss TC with the same sort of flip "I don't use it, so I won't review it." Or, "I used it once two years ago and wasn't impressed, so I never looked at it again." To me, they are failing and should stop reviewing products... it's like reviewing a car, but only driving it in reverse, or not driving a car at all because the they reviewed the 2000 model and they assume nothing has changed.
