I believe that the Elegant is a 901 variation of the eGo system. The batteries appear to be the same setup. If this is the case, there is no easy/practical way to replace the internal battery. There have been a few people that have pulled apart their eGos to replace the internal battery or to use the components to make their own mods, but it looked a bit complicated. The extras are probably just complete units minus the covers and attys.

As to the quality, I have heard a couple of folks say that they were good solid units. DonDaBoomVape did a review of one a while back and said nice things about it.

As for the quality of the cell within the unit, I don't think that it's possible to really know for certain. It could be made by the same factories in china that make the ultrafire 3000s, which have a track record of poor performance, premature failure, and a handful of explosions/venting events reported. Or, they could be made in a factory that produces decent quality cells. There isn't likely an easy way to know for certain. The uncertainty of most of the ecig market is why I do not and will not purchase ecig equipment that doesn't allow me to choose the cells and charger that power the unit myself.

The cell size and capacity is large enough IMO to safely drive the load of an atty regardless of whether it's a LiCo or LiMn type cell. Seems there are a lot of ecigs being sold using LiCo chemistry cells far too small for the load of an atty. Minimum safe cell size for LiCo chemistry to drive an atty is ~17500/14670 ~1AH or better in my opinion.
