Is the Iatty safe?

I am interested in getting a repairable atty and the Iatty looked like a good option at first glance. But I am a bit concerned about the internal components used. It doesn't seem like a good idea to me to have plastic parts anywhere near the coil and wick on an atty, you are inhaling whatever is vapourised straight into your lungs. I think it is common knowledge that plastic fumes are really not something you want to inhale. From the videos the plastic parts seem to be in direct contact with the wick? This post is not intended to inflame anyone, I just want to find out if this product is safe to use or not.

I googled 'heat resistant plastic' and apparently in 2007 scientists developed a plastic that didn't burn like other plastics and didn't emit toxic vapers when exposed to heat. I wonder if this is the type of plastic used in the iatty? I'll contact some suppliers of the iatty and see if I can get any information on this. Here's a couple of links of what I found for reference:

New Plastic That Doesn't Burn and is Environmentally Friendly
Deoxybenzoin-based Anti-flammable Polyphosphonate and Poly(arylate-phosphonate) Copolymer Compounds, Compositions and Related Methods of Use - Emrick, Todd
High Temp Polymers: Ultrason® - BASF Corporation Plastics Portal

I have contacted a supplier and they couldn't give me a definate answer on what type of plastic it is, but they think it might be Delrin. Delrin seems to be fairly safe as far as plastics go. According to the MSDS it is not known to contain toxins and is food grade safe. It did mention though that if it is overheated it can produce formaldehyde gas "which may cause skin, eye, and respiratory irritation and allergic reactions." Formaldehyde is also listed as a carcinogen. Melting point is listed as 175-183 C (347-361 F). So it would have to get pretty hot where the plastic parts are to pose any serious health risk I think. Here is the MSDS for Delrin:

Imeo, If you see this thread, I'd love it if you could have some input on this. It would be good to get some verification on what type of plastic is used in the Iatty and I'm not sure how to get in contact with you. This is not an attack on your product, I think your work is great, I just want to be well informed on what I'm using.
