I just found this thread on Friday I got up and couldn't hear out of my right ear. I worked most of the day until I became dizzy and very sick to my stomach to the point I had to go home. On the way home my ear "popped" and I started to feel better. I just figuered I had something going on in my inner ear. Maybe not? That day I had been hitting my xhaler hard.

I have had this also.. It lasted about 2 weeks off and on.

I thought it might be PG or even VG as I do both.

I dont think its relatedto vaping at all.

It is gone now and I vape as much as I always have.

If it was the vaping it would still be here.

It is a very serious condition especially when you're in a car driving. Very scary.

It doesnt leave very fast either so you can be incapacitated for many hours.

It must be a vius going around or it was an infection of the inner ear.

Either way I would not worry that its the ecigs causing it.

Hi everyone usually just a reader on here -- but had to reply to this one
I quit smoking Oct 18th and switched over to the e-cig . I could not believe how easy it was to quit! Anyway a week or so -- same thing happened to me as on this thread -- Severe Vertigo . I associated it with the ecig from reading these forums and ordered VG. It did not work for me -- Went to the Doc yesterday and she was baffled. She suggested an inner ear infection and gave me antibiotics -- THis morning it was so severe i contiplated going to the hospital -- i have a few more symptoms though. Tingling in my feet and hands -- clammy skin when i get dizzy -- well stopped using it all together today and am going ot see what happens -- I hope its some sort of virus because i love my ecig but you never know. The whole thing is just so wierd -- i go to the gym 5 times a week eat right etc never been to the doctor for anything that i can remember -- anyways just adding my expierience so far -- ill keep you guys updated just in case it can help someone else --- thanks

I had severe vertigo for first time abt a month ago...lasted 7 FULL days. I was totally freaked it, as it was AWFUL!!!!

I wonder...is it a virus or possibly vaping? I vaped for 10 months before it happened and am still vaping...I wondered but figured like others that it has been almost a year. SO i still vape but DO have questions on its cause...

I just googled (and read some article) PG, and found out exposures to high level amounts can cause irreversible damage to the liver and CNS. Switch to VG now. I know it's different from the last post I made, but still, if you've been vaping a lot, I would hate to see you end up as a statistic in future research against the e-cig.

Chances are you caught something from your mom, but it would be great if you could say so without having to question your connection to frequent inhalation of PG.

I hope (and cross my fingers) that you get better, and quickly.

first off I want to cover this post right here....this is totally a reactionary post and based on one article...
if you go to the CDC's agency for toxic substances and disease and look up PG...the daily safe level of PG is like 23mg per Kg of body weight and that's either injected or digested...
so no one vapes that much...in adition it leaves the body in about 4 hours..
here: Ethylene Glycol and Propylene Glycol Toxicity: What is Propylene Glycol | ATSDR - Environmental Medicine & Environmental Health Education - CSEM
it's gone far more testing than VG....vg is by far the more unknown and unproven as being safe...

Anyway back to the vertigo thing...
I know it sounds funny...but seriously.... google "rocks in the head"...or "rocks in the ear"...or Benign Paroxysmal Positional Vertigo.

IT can be aggrivated by seasonal and atmospheric changes as well as inner ear infections and virus...

essentally there are little crystals in your inner ear and one or some come loose and roll around the inner ear and cause vertigo...there are a few exercises that can alleviate it and make it go away if thats what it is..

P.S. --I've had it recently too...

I tried all the rocks in ear videos I could find on youtube lol. It made me worse, but I dont think that was MY issue. I honestly think the tube in my inner ear was swollen bc when the CT showed no infection and NONE of the 6+ meds worked, nor the excercises, my PCP gave me a shot of toradol (antiinflammatory) and it cleared rt up. If it EVER happens again, Im goin for the toradol shot FIRST! :D

I know this is months after the last post, but I wanted to add since this rare occurrence affected me too.

Last night I was vaping sitting down and suddenly felt tired. Then I realized that my vision seemed a little funny, and if I turned my head it spun a bit like after you spin around and stop. I got up to go brush my teeth and realized I was having trouble staying in balance while standing/walking. Needless to say it freaked me out. I went to bed- Hoping I would survive the night! The next morning I woke up and still felt funny, especially if I turned my head.

I don't know if it had anything to do with the vaping. I have been vaping consistently for a few years now. It is true that I just had accidentally "burned" my attie two days prior to the incident- I just blew it out and continued. I wondered if maybe the burned particles did something.

I knew a doctor and she mentioned it was probably just vertigo - Which can be brought on by tons of different things- Infections, dehydration, etc. So I really don't know. The feeling has gone away gradually...

But I still wonder if vaping had anything to do with it. I don't know. I vape mostly PG liquids at 24mg on a 510 lr 1.5. Also like a prior poster in this thread, I have a low tolerance to alcohol- P.s. I have never experienced vertigo like that before.

Edit - Update - I found out that it was some water that got stuck in my ear after a bath. So, before jumping to the vaping conclusion, don't forget it could be other things!

Clear Blue,

Are you on PPI's- stomach meds? All the stomach meds (Zantac, Prilosec, Nexium, Protonics, Tums, etc.) can cause you to be deficient in several things that can lead to vertigo, tingling and numbness. Even if you eat a ton of nutrient rich foods or take vitamins, stomach meds can make you : B12 deficient, B6 deficient, Iron deficient, Calcium and magnesium deficient. THose vit/minerals need stomach acid to get absorbed and PPI's work SO well at reducing acid that those things pass through.unabsorbed.

Just a thought! So many folks are on stomach meds and don't know the side effects.
