Ok, if you still believe the sun raises and sets with your doctor don't read this thread. I'm a late 50s guy with some small issues worst being high BP and minor circulatory issues. Monday evening I started experiencing a tremendous amount of dizziness and nausea. My wife just short of calling an ambulance convinced me to ride with her to the hospital. Mind you other than my symptoms I felt fine. It was a slow night when we got there so I was wheeled right into treatment. I had some high BP, my EKG was normal. Right away they are talking CT Scan, MRI, chest x-ray. The third doctor comes in and says, I believe you have Benign Positional Vertigo but we should all the recommended test given my history. All were negative but who has to pay for them long with the day in the hospital. So I'm released from the hospital still dizzy but not vomiting with a prescription for over the counter motion sickness pills. After getting home I look at a Youtube about my condition and how to treat it. Ten minutes later after trying the Epley Maneuver, I'm healed no dizziness. I guess next time I'll look at a Youtube before I give the local hospital 10K.

I don't usually go to the hospital first off, unless things are getting weird. I'm glad you are okay, but generally, if I feel I don't have the "faculties" to do some research on what I might be feeling, well, that would be the times I go.

Of course, yeah, hospitals are going to rule out all "catastrophic" possibilities, it's what they do. The pricing is unfortunate, but it is what it is. Also another reason I will rarely go to hospitals is the fact that it's quite easy to walk out of there with another illness you did not have, at least in certain areas of the hospital it is, and depending on a hospital's competence and etc., but they really are just overall unpleasant.

I'm glad you are feeling better though, and got your answers from youtube. Unfortunately, depending on what the "attack" may be, youtube may be less helpful than a hospital for a heart attack and etc. I mean, they'll tell you to take some baby asprin if "whatever agglomeration of symptoms of whatever" is entered into whatever internet "ranking" site and you receive that "possibility" but I'm not sure of how accurate they always are and etc. Sigh.
