I'm a 3 week old vaper so, forgive me if that's a dumb question. I just bought a new tank and after an unfortunate dry-hit I got it going. But the hits were dry and rough, like inhaling sand, and not anything like the good throat hit I get out of my other tank. I'm a trooper so I kept at it and about a half hour later I started to get good, smooth hits. It was the same for my first tank. So, is there a breaking in period?

I'm only assuming it's the atty because it's the only thing that makes sense to me, but if you have other knowledge PLEASE share it with me.

Thanks,

The Chawg

Suggestion: When starting a new tank... do NOT hit the firing button...
take a couple of deep draws (breaths/inhales) on the drip tip..
to get the wicks working a little...

and then let the tank set for at least 10 minutes before
you begin vaping with it... and expect at least the first few minutes
to work up to your full flavor and vapor.

Edit: Same applies when you change heads.

Thanks, Seer. I'll be sure to this next time.

Just an update on the problem I had here. So, it turns out that what was happening was that I was getting dry hits. Frustrated, I'd put my set-up down, but would come back later to get good hits. This only lasted for a few hits though. The wick coupdnt keep up with my apparently aggressive vaping.

The first dry hit was really bad so, me being new, I didn't recognize the subsequent dry hits for what they were. I had read somewhere that people were using cotton as replacement material for their wicks. I figured I had nothing to loose and gave it a try. I replaced the wicks and then following your priming instructions. So happy I gave it a go. No dry hits, flavor is about the same, but now I can enjoy vaping again.

Thanks again for the priming tips.
