Is there any advantage...

Is there any advantage to using a smaller piece of blue foam in the 510 carts. I had been using a full cart sized piece of foam in the carts, but figured that if I only used enough to plug the cart I could get more juice in.

Are there any disadvantages to only using a small piece of foam? All the video's I have watched use a whole piece.

I have used one that was about 3/4 or 1/2 the size and had good results.

I always like to use less for the same reason as you stated (more juice). I have not had any negative results unless you leave the cart on the PV then is has leaked on me. So I usually fill and vape dry when I use less than full filler

I tried one of the "plugs" but quickly found there were 2 problems; a) I had trouble keeping it up at the top so it would stay in contact with the bridge, and b) I didn't like having to pull it out every time I filled the cartridge.

So, I opted for the http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/cartridge-mods/58690-b-f-d-cart-mod.html which gives me the best of both; a) it stays at the top because of the straw, and b) I don't have to remove it because I fill it with a syringe.
