Is there any difference between the VK and the KR808D-1

the cartomizers are interchangable, as all KR808D-1s share the same thread...if they don't, theyre not KR808D-1s. They also share a common thread with the 901.

So in answer to your question, all of the KR808D-1s share the same thread pattern, and as such the cartomizers and batteries are physically interchangable. It is not my opinion that the flavor, and certainly not the battery duration, are interchangable.

I agree kc! It doesn't get any better then what you can get from Steve! ;)

My manual passthrough is a workhorse though....my macbook had to warm up to the power it sucks from it!

Now that it's working fine, it hasn't left my fingers.

I met someone who was using a KR808 today, as a matter of fact....and while parts work together, we both agreed that the VK is a superior piece of equipment....I don't care what the science is...it just works.

Sweet!!
But I am confused on how the cartomizer work on 901.... I read someone saying that I need to make hole on cartomizer in order to work on 901 properly while I read others saying it works fine without doing anything...

It's more the other way around. You can use a 901 atomizer on a VK or KR808D. Cartomizers fit the 901, but you can't get any airflow, although I have heard the cartomizers work on some 901 passthroughs.

A review would be much appreciated!

But I still love my 510 more ;-)

Glad you love your 510, and if it is working for you that is great! I got good taste and throat hit only when I was dripping or topping off carts and that just didn't fit in with my lifestyle. I really love my VaporKing, but whatever gets people off the cigs is ok in my book! ;)

And I did do a review, it is stickied and titled "Seriously" on this page if you want to read it. But if you love your 510 then stick with it! Happy vaping! :)

I'm not sure what the paranoia and hysteria about 'burning carts' is or who started it or where it was started..but you sure read and watch some interesting things on other forums or subforums here about this.

I've dissected numerous old carts ive killed, cause i like to tinker. Internally they can and do have the atty burn through the wick material which sits between the batting and the atomizer coil.

I've seen people say "who knows what you're inhaling when a Cartomizer burns" and similar quotes and it always puzzles me when I read such statements.

If you're vaping a 6v device..you better be dripping if you fear burning strange materials...and let's be serious for a moment...are you positive about whats in a 901/510/801/m401 atty? some of it is metal..what kind of metal? how do they respond to over heating..what percentage of metal is burned off with every drag? how much are you inhaling? I'f you use a cart, youre burning some cart material if youre not pretty careful.odds are you will even if you are.

What happens to the juice when it's incinerated? Not heated to the temperature at which it vaporizes, but far above and beyond that temperature...right to smoke? what does it make? what new chemicals are created in that inferno? There is a specific temperature at which PG vaporizes, heating beyond that temperature continues to vaporize up to a point..but very far beyond it and the liquid is incinerated.

The reality is that people will *say* anything. Here in the U.S. we have a wonderful right known as "freedom of speech". We can literally say anything. That doesn't mean that everyone who says something is right.

One thing is for certain. You're not inhaling over 4000 chemicals and combustion by products no matter what device you use or how you use it. I've suffered no ill effects from any of the devices I've used, and prefer cartomizers because of their ease of use.

I just took apart a cartomizer which was retired for "burnt taste' and inside, there is a tiny synthetic woven material..much like is used for high temperature wire insulation in electric motors, then the atomizer coil, then another piece of that nylon/synthetic insulation, and then some apparently woven cloth material similar to teabag material..like a soft cloth..fairly absorbant, probably a polyester weave, but it could be cotton, it looks a lot like bandaging material of some kind. None of it is burned through, however some of it is blackened, probably cause of atomizer overheating the tiny bit of remaining juice in a cart that was vaped a little beyond the stopping point..the blackened areas came out for the most part under tap water although some staining remained. this is almost certainly baked juice which was incinerated.

If i'm right, and that is baked juice, then a 6v device fills your lungs with whatever that is once its incinerated instead of vaped, with every drag.

Important to note the batting material isnt even darkened, and could and likely will be reused by me in another device after washing. The entire cartomizer most likely could have been re-used after washing, but i draw the line at washing a disposable cartomizer.

I understand as much as i can about what I'm inhaling, and i understand that there are things i may not fully understand about what I'm inhaling. I do it willingly, I try to keep informed, and when I don't understand, i read (sometimes misinformation) and weigh what i read against what I know or can prove to be true. Vaping is a choice, and I make it every day, as an educated decision. I think everyone should make that decision on their own, with as much factual information as is available.

Unfortunately; just because it's printed does not make it fact. Many times it's "opinion" and sometimes, misguided opinion. Your mileage may vary.
