hey,

this seems too easy but...has anyone tried contacting a 'tubing company' (lol) to see if they could replicate something in pyrex for use with the kir fannis/fluid flask/whatever tank you love that is made only with polycarbonate?

i'm in contact with a company now...i've emailed them and they seem confident they have a size that will fit OR can create one that will. i'm sure they will want a minimum order of some kind, website states minimum purchase of $45 for special creations, i believe, which doesn't seem so bad. i've impressed upon them the need for an exact reproduction...

so does anyone have any interest? i'm sure some negotiating will take place as to how many they provide and for what cost. how much do you think a fair price would be?

Threaded glass on the size of that kind of tank is typically very hard to do and get a decent seal out of it. Those tanks have some really fine threading on them.

I'm not saying it can't be done, but whether it can be done in a way that won't cost a fortune and won't fail right away?

I'd love to see someone pull it off, but I'm skeptical.

Contact OCD, the glass expert at IBTanked on his supplier forum.

You can ask questions there that he can reply to openly unlike in the general members area where suppliers are not allowed to discuss business. He has been supplying pyrex replacement tubes for many of the RBA tanks and some of the older cartotanks that only had polycarbonate options. He was even looking into glass replacements for the vivi nova tanks but couldn't make that work because of the threading the caps had.

He has a great sense of humor, calling his wife The Mrs and his daughter the Offspring. Even the strange name for the supplier's forum he has: http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...s-forum/339809-do-you-fiddle-your-thingy.html
