YouTube - Green Nicotine Reviews and Competitors

I figured you guys would know more about this than I do. It is true that they are cartomizers and use an unconventional atomizer with fibers that looks similar to those on a paint brush, but is the rest of what he's saying true about how with metal atomizers you get traces of metal in your vapor? I'll post a pic of one of their cartomizers I dissected later.

Sounds like just a sales pitch to me. He says their atomizer is not nickel but never says what theirs is.....

he says it's inorganic fibers, which is true. I've dissected it and how it looks is, its got this little plastic container inside filled with cotton and e-liquid, open side facing the atomizer, closed side facing the part you puff on. the atomizer itself looks like 2 parts, one is a lone wire on one side, and adjacent to that are these fibers that look like those found on a paintbrush. Ever heard of anything like that and if so is that any good?

Although I can't say it as a fact, they appear to be using the GreenCig/GreenWorld products which have been available for quite some time. Personally I can't stand those cartomizers and they're not very popular.

I took a look at the Green Nicotine web site. Some of the claims and the sales pitch just made me cringe.

Scotbee - what are your thoughts on what he said about inhaling nickel from regular atties? Like I said, it has made me want to make all my 3 dripping attys bridgeless, just to be on the safe side.

First off, please keep in mind that your atty is surrounded by nickel mesh..... removing the bridge does not eliminate all of the nickel.

Secondly, I would say that his assertion that we are inhaling some nickel byproduct is a wild, unsubstantiated claim. Without some form of head-gas analysis I would never, ever believe it. You do realize that the heating coil itself is made of mostly nickel.... and his cartomizers (most likely) still use a nichrome heating coil.

I HATE scare tactics.. especially when they are HEALTH scare tactics. Reminds me of the CE2 "bacteria in your filler" crap.....

Look at the website
You can buy the right to have something replaced

I think it is a grossly overpriced mini e-cig without a good warranty

I also think that these guys at the Green Nicotine, they're good marketers. The youtube clip, you see the guy isn't terribly well spoken or any kind of a thing like that, but stupid marketing like that really moves a-lot of people.

Marketing 101 once again, there are so many people that fall for what others say in advertising it's crazy and it works so they continue to use this technique over and over again to create a hype and it promotes sales. This is seen on a daily basis in just about every advertisement. If you want to find out about a product in the ecig industry your best bet is to probably speak with a veteran ecig user who you can trust who uses the product you are thinking about buying and ask for his honest opinion rather than watching a companies sales pitch.

Bacteria no big deal, but inhaling heavy metal gas scares the bejeebus out of me tbh.

The rest of his shpiel was easy to see through (our cartos = 50 cigarettes) as I used to be a bs merchant myself, selling insurance.

As a general rule, if a salesman is being deceptive in one part of a spiel, then you have very good reason to doubt the rest of his spiel. I wouldn't worry about this based on that sales pitch.

I haven't heard anyone else raise this as a serious concern despite hearing lots of people amplifying even marginal issues in an attempt to scare folks away from vaping. I don't know if this is a real concern or not, but I'm not going to become suspicious based on a sales pitch.

Ok, before i get jumped on, I am not trying to invoke a mass panic or attck vaping etc. I am just genuinely worried.

from wiki

ToxicityExposure to nickel metal and soluble compounds should not exceed 0.05 mg/cm³ in nickel equivalents per 40-hour work week. Nickel sulfide fume and dust is believed to be carcinogenic, and various other nickel compounds may be as well.[39][40] Nickel carbonyl, [Ni(CO)4], is an extremely toxic gas. The toxicity of metal carbonyls is a function of both the toxicity of the metal as well as the carbonyl's ability to give off highly toxic carbon monoxide gas, and this one is no exception. It is explosive in air.[41][42] Sensitized individuals may show an allergy to nickel affecting their skin, also known as dermatitis. Sensitivity to nickel may also be present in patients with pompholyx. Nickel is an important cause of contact allergy, partly due to its use in jewellery intended for pierced ears.[43] Nickel allergies affecting pierced ears are often marked by itchy, red skin. Many earrings are now made nickel-free due to this problem. The amount of nickel which is allowed in products which come into contact with human skin is regulated by the European Union. In 2002 researchers found amounts of nickel being emitted by 1 and 2 Euro coins far in excess of those standards. This is believed to be due to a galvanic reaction.[44]

It was voted Allergen of the Year in 2008 by the American Contact Dermatitis Society.[45]

Come on science dudes, help us out here....

Here's the thing.

I wish someone would pull their fingers out and do the long term testing on these things so I could have a list that says

'Smoking, we know gives you this that and this and the risks of certain diseases are blah blah blah. Vaping gives you this percent of these tsnas, this much of this and etc...'

So I could truly compare the two, see exactly how much a lesser risk vaping is etc and make a truly informed decision.

Yeah, I know I smoked for years without writing into smoking companies websites and asking them these questions, but the damamge is done now. The climate now is different however and I know exactly what is in my cigs and the risks of certain diseases based on pack years etc.

Just wish I could have the same for vaping, if anything it's the curiosity that kills me!

Would be interesting to know how much if any ozone we are inhaling also as living in a high ozone state such as La or Houston apparently raises your lung disease risk by 30%.

Surely dekang or TW have made enough dough to do the testing by now ;p ...?

I highly doubt there is any threat for nickel poisoning from the nickel mesh in the atomizers. Nickel is used in fryer baskets...turkey fryers baskets are nickel plated....I don't think any of the nickel in the atomizers are being exposed to temps as high as fryer baskets. JMO

Not being experts neither of us know if the nickel in those baskets is treated in a way that it wont give off any dangerous fumes etc. Also we are not directly inhaling that either, all day long every day. Hey perhaps the e-cig manufacturers have tested and know that the nickel in their attys are risk free - but where are the studies? There is so little info about things like this and it annoys me. As well it should everyone. Like I said, I am not saying it is dangerous, I literally have no idea and I would very much like to have an idea.

coronas, ions, electrons, my head spins!

Just a suggestion...the chem people I have had contact with on this forum seem to hang out in the modders section. Maybe it would be a good idea to ask this question there, specifically under the atomizer section, as well. My get a quicker response.

Good idea keela. post a lazy man with a killer head cold a link wouldya? :)
