The 35 amp battery is believed to be the LG ICR18650HE2, which is a 20A continuous battery. Efest plays kind of fast and loose with the amp ratings.

Thanks, I have been thinking all this time that efest were just as good. Now I will have to look into it further.

OK I have looked into it further and found this. http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/batteries-chargers/508124-new-efest-18650-2500mah-35-amp-4.html

If what I am reading here is true the battery could be a hybrid and does discharge at 35amps without problem. The fact that they have rebranded another battery that has different specs is a little worrying, but from what people have said after testing, I don't think I am put off from using them.

Yes they seem to be advertising the burst output whereas most other batteries use the continuous rate. The LG is a good battery so there's no reason not to use it. Up to the ~10A range it's basically the same as the best Sony (VTC5). However if you are hitting super high amps (20+) the Sonys would be better.

Point taken. I don't have a vast knowledge of batteries and was following this thread as I was interested about the subject of fakes that are flooding the market, and thought efest seemed to be a battery that you didn't hear about being faked. As they rebrand other makes, this is probably the reason why. I don't do crazy sub Ohm builds, But if I was, I would probably think about changing them.

Thanks for bringing this to my attention, as I had no idea about the rebranding before you told me.

I think its worth saying that ... their purple 18650 @2500mAh is rated at 35amp which is, as far as I can tell one of the highest rated batteries out there of this size.
I think as things stand ATM, you will be less likely to end up with a fake efest in your mod as opposed to a fake sony or AW.
Thanks for bringing this to my attention, as I had no idea about the rebranding before you told me.

The purple "Efest 18650 2500mAh 35A" batteries are rewrapped LG 18650HE2. Quoting Dampfakkus.de:

This is a rebranded LG ICR18650HE2 cell. Careful: max continuous discharge rate for this cell is 20A *NOT* 35A as advertised by Efest. According to LGs spec sheet 35A is only permissible for short periods not to exceed 75 seconds.

The purple "Efest 18650 2100mAh 30A" are rewrapped Sony US18650VTC4. Again, quoting Dampfakkus.de:

I am very sure this is in fact simply a rebranded Sony US18650VTC4 cell.
