Not really. There's the Spheroid, but the design uses sera wool to hold the juice, like a giant carto. It lacks a ceramic housing though, which helps keep the body cool in the Penelope.

There are others out there, but they're in the "get on a list" category. Someone else will have to chime in on those.

Unfortunately, with regard to ceramic cup designed devices, no. It's the nature of the ceramic cup, which requires the additional NR wire by design.

People have used the said without the 2 NR wires. However, the use of NR wires is a simple task, once you have built a couple NR-R-NR wire assemblies.

I'm not looking for LR, I generally vape at about 1.8-2.2 ohms, and I get this without NR on my eBaron pro, which uses a ceramic. Will a similar coil setup (4/3) on a Penelope/Odysseus using 32g Kanthal without NR get me similar resistance? I can always try some of the 0.5mm ribbon Kanthal which sits here unused, as it always gives me coils that are lower resistance than I prefer in any setup.

I suspect most people are aiming for sub-ohm coils, which would mandate NR wire in pretty much any device.

In my own little world
The Kayfun mini 2.1 ES and Kayfun 3.1 ES are both bottom fed, silica atomizers which require only resistance wire. No twisting two types of wire together. They are hard to get and expensive but work better than anything else I've used.

This is my Kayfun 3.1 ES is 10ml mode. Regular mode is 4.5ml and much smaller.

Thanks for the suggestions! The Olympus looks especially interesting. I'm going to take my time deciding this. I know that 5 minutes after I buy one of these, I'll want to go the R/NR wire route.

Once installed the connection isn't under any stress so the knot doesn't have to be as fancy as what most people show. Just use a single interlocking knot made by making a loop in wire 1 (r), hold in left hand with loop pointing right, place wire 2 (nr) across loop vertical and capture with thumb, take top end of wire 2 over wire 1 and back through loop, do the same for bottom end of wire 2. Pull tight and trim ends. Now measure back on r wire from the knot the distance for your ohms and bend the r wire back to mark it, then spread back apart to make a loop and repeat above with wire 3 (nr).

Once you've done it once it's easy and quick. Good luck and happy vaping. :vapor:

This is the type knot you're after. http://www.google.com/imgres?imgurl...77DUfrhL4rC9gSMpIGADQ&ved=0CEIQ9QEwBA&dur=638

DV has an ohm chart for kanthal here. http://www.discountvapers.com/kanthal-a1-wire-resistance-chart/

As far as other devices also take a look at the taifun gt. pbusardo has a video on it. http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...apped-good-amount-my-money-2.html#post9850750

Thank you, I'm not averse to tinkering, I'd be all for using NR wire. Right now, I've got stockpiles of various Kanthal wire, ribbon wire, Ekowool and silica wicks and a few drippers. At some point, I will probably tone down the tinkering, and I will want to have a good dripper (the eBDP is working perfectly for that) and a to-go tank in SS that doesn't leak and is as easy to recoil as my eBDP. I just figured NR would add to the workload, but if it gets me to where I want to be in terms of performance, I might still consider a Penelope.

That said, the Kayfuns look amazing as well. Good chance I'll get more than one device. I can almost feel the funds rushing towards some far-off Paypal or Mastercard server as I type this. *sigh*
