Been reading up again on what to buy and found this Tornado Twist. It looks okay to me but thought I'd check here.

Ego Twist variable volt 650 mah double kit+Mini tank+Dual coil carto/ecig/shisha | eBay

How often do I need to change the coils in the Evod I've got now? I really am new to this, don't even know the lingo yet. The instructions are vague and Google didn't help much. I've changed it once but that was guess work.

650 mah is tooooooooooooooooooo less. not les than 900 or 1100mah ......... i am about to throw all my 650mah much less vaping even the VV one.

Milliamps Hour (mAh) is important because it's the easiest way to distinguish the strength or capacity of a battery. The higher the mAh, the longer the battery will last. Batteries with different mAh ratings are interchangeable. Because your battery is rechargeable then the mAh rating is how long the battery will last per charge.

Milliamps Hour is 1/1000th of a Amp Hour, so a 1000mAh = 1.0Ah

Think of a cars fuel tank. Voltage is how much fuel is being used, and mAh is the size of the fuel tank. The bigger the fuel tank (mAh) rating the longer the device will run.

Hope this helps explain it :)

Thanks again everyone and yes it does help now you've explained it Haza and it makes sense to me :)

I've been using my Evod Twist and I have to say that I'm very impressed with it. It's like vaping a telescope lol but rather that than not getting proper enjoyment.

Could someone help me here. I'm needing to order some coil heads. The one's I use apparently work best between 3.2 and 3.8 but my Twist goes beyond that at the moment. Do I need to buy 2.2 or can I use something like 2.5?

It really doesn't matter much if you have a variable voltage battery--you can adjust the voltage up or down to suit your taste. That said, I really like 2.2-2.4Ω coils the best; they are very versatile and (to me) they are less harsh than some of the lower resistance coils. It may be all in my head, but it's been my experience. I'd get the 2.2Ω--Kanger coils tend to run a bit higher then advertised, usually + 0.1-0.2Ω.

Yes, I check the ohms of my coils. ;)

egos die fast i would suggest a mech mod

Not so fast. All batteries die eventually.

Mechanical mods are unregulated, which means our OP would have to struggle with sert (and sagging) voltage. Unless he buys a kick. Totally not worth it, IMO.

I strongly recommend regulated , vv/vw PVs for everybody--especially new vapers.

Thanks for the advice and welcome everyone. I've had a good look at the links and the coupons. Typical lol, I can't find one for what I want to buy but there's some good ones there. Glenn I think my taste buds must be shot because I've been able to use a coil for about a week and a half before I changed it. Unless it's just that the liquid isn't a strong one compared to the B&H. Mind you, I'm sure it's just me being new to it and getting a feel/taste for what is right.

I'd like a go at either cleaning them or making my own but I'm a bit nervous at the mo. Believe me, I can make simple into a complex mess in no time lol. Is there a thread anywhere that could give me instructions on how to do this when I'm ready?

I've decided to go for the Ego Twist as the adjustable voltage is appealing. Again, don't know if others do this? I like my Evod but I think the Ego or some alternative might just give me that edge so that I can cut out the few cigs I still smoke. A better throat hit would be better and a little more vapour would be a bonus. The vapour is one thing I liked about smoking full time.

this video goes all the way with changng the coil also, but just soaking and changing out the top wicks will keep your heads going for weeks to months+; you can use cotton to rewick; boil the cotton first

2.2 ohm is common. 2.5 is on the higher side of things and 1.8 is on the lower side of things.

In a few months time you might get a regulated box/tube with "VW" which will adjust to whichever resistance coil you put in, but in the meantime, you are probably better off keeping all your coils the same resistance, unless you intend to be checking them.

I have coils which are 1.8 and 2.2

Keep an eye out for a pyrex tank like the miniprotank2 which uses the same coil head as the evod.

I use a protank on a miniprotank base on an eGo-C base stuffed with tissue to isolate any leaks from getting on the battery.

You've all made it a little easier to understand for me and the video ramped up my learning. I'd no idea you could get higher voltage with other brands. I now know how to recoil, something I never thought I'd learn. Brilliant. The twists I've got purpleeasy are 1000 mah and as a novice, I can only say it's great. It'll be nice to post in other threads eventually when I know what I'm talking about.

Edyle, my coils are 2.2 but I'd like to try a 1.8. Is it a better vape and throat hit with the 1.8? As it is, I'm happy with it but I know different liquids smoke differently to each other so maybe a lower ohm would be better with some?

Generally speaking it is a warmer vape.

No harm trying it, it's not expensive.

If you get a VW mod, it won't matter at all.

With your twists, you can adjust for it if necessary;

If you find yourself cranking the voltage all the way UP and need some more, then definitely get lower ohm coils. That's the choice : either raise the voltage or lower the resistance.

I see. Sorry to ask edyle but what is a VW mod? I'm so new to this and don't know the abbreviations much at all

What I will do is get some 1.8 and try them to see how it goes. At the moment I'm vaping on about 4.0 voltage, decent vape but the throat hit just needs tweaking I think. It mentioned warmer vapes in the video but being a novice, I don't know the difference yet.

With the 'twist' battery, you can choose the voltage, and the battery will output a constant voltage; this is called "variable voltage" because you can set the voltage yourself. VV= 'variable voltage'

One the most modern battery systems, you can choose the power (which is measured in Watts); this is called "variable wattage" because you can set the wattage yourself. VW='variable wattage'

With VW, if you change out the atomizer to one of a different resistance, the electronics will adjust itself to compensate for the difference.

And don't be shy about asking question in the new members forum at all; you get a certain time in new members forum that you can post new threads, then after that you can't so ASK AWAY!!
And there are thousands of people all over the world watching this forum willing to help out any new vapers, because when they came here, they got help; so any questions you ask here are likely to get a response WITHIN MINUTES.

Vapoor, yes I got the Evod starter kit with the USB charger. So I can use my Evod accessories on the Ego battery then?
Yes Evods, JoyeTech eGos, SLB Kgo, Twists and Spinners, etc are all in the "eGo" class and are generally 510 and eGo threading and will accept the most common and popular accessories including chargers.
As far as ohms- 1.8 ohms is from 3.7- 4.0 volts. 2.0 to 2.4 ohms is good for above 4.0 volts. 1.8 ohms will work BUT you may have to turn down the voltage. On my Spinners and Twists I use 2.4 ohms as they give me the widest range of voltage possible. Realize most clearos, cartos are usually not as advertised. I've found them to sometimes be + or - 10- 20% difference.

Got it edyle, thanks for the explanation and also for telling me I can ask what is needed too. I like this section a lot and have learned a lot from it. I'll be off to the UK section soon enough lol. I think you guys are great and so helpful. Glad this forum was recommended for the support.

I've seen 2.5 ohms advertised Vapoor. I am using the higher voltage so I might be best trying these instead. My problem is I want to run before I can walk but I'd like to perfect my vaping asap. No use in it not being what I want. Thanks.

Another good thing about joining here Blackster is how I've learned to stay away from Ebay for things like this. Too many knockoffs as you say. I've bookmarked quite a few sites now to buy my gear from.

Everybody wants to reach that final perfect vaping setup; no fiddle no fuss (well except the consumate fiddlers); but make sure you have BACKUPS, even if it is just a cigalike disposable kept in original sealed packaging for emergency purposes.
