Is this a strange resistance?

I've got a couple of Mega attys, the ones almost as big as the eGo battery, that fail to produce. I got the old trusty multi-meter out, and one measured 24 ohms, and the other 36 ohms. This was measured with the positive in the battery end hole, and the negative against the bat threads. Has anyone else seen resistance like this? Being fairly new to this, just thought I'd ask. I was using them a lot on a 5V PT.

I've seen very high resistances (10-30 ohms as far as I can remember) on some atty's that have broken, mainly M401's and LR306's, usually after quite a lot of use. They don't work properly although they get slightly warm, and you may even get a bit of vapour out of them. More often they just die - and that gives infinite resistance. Not sure why some do this, but their effectively dead.
