It's good that you posted a picture of it Dan. AW batteries are some of the most counterfeited batts on the market these days. Here's a picture of mine, bought from what I consider a reliable supplier in Canada:

Note that mine says 'RoHS' and yours says 'ROHS' and the difference in the text, really noticeable on the 'R'. Also the recycle triangle and the garbage symbol on mine are hollow and yours are filled in.

You can also take a look at the pic of the same battery from RTD Vapor's website. I'm pretty sure your battery is counterfeit.

I agree with Ryedan. Unfortunately yours has all the "what's wrong with this picture" attributes of the fakes. See pictures here as well. ~> AW Batteries - Authorised Dealers

Personally, most batteries I get in classifieds deals I end up just tossing. I never consider used batteries when buying gear as part of the deal. I have received batteries charged over voltage, with protection circuits tripped etc. Lotto "used car salesman" going on with talked-up used batteries some times. Bottom line: I have no idea how they were used or abused - it's not worth it.

Having said that, if you ever need to re-wrap it's easy enough to do. The next time you go shopping just pick up some wraps made for the purpose. I just got a 10 pack for less than two bucks at RTD Vapor, but many other places are now carrying them. Pre-cut for 18650's and you just cut them down as required for 490/500 or 350 length batteries. You can use hardware store shrink wrap, but the stuff vape places are selling is thinner than stock electrical shrink wrap - less likely to cause a problem making "fat" batteries that won't fit into some PV's that have little spare tolerance regarding the diameter of a battery.

Thanks guys I'll probably just toss the batteries and pick up some new aw's. Glad I posted this. The batteries were just throw ins I got a good deal on what I bought so not really trippin on the sale. I didn't realize there were so many fakes. I looked at the other aw's I have and a couple are also fake. That's really crumby people would sell fake batteries. Oh well.
