Silly question i know.

Since starting to use my A580 ten days ago, i've now gone 8 days without smoking!!!!!

I've tried quite a few different ways of stopping during my 30 years of smoking (mostly rather stressful and all unsuccessful)and now i've stopped! Just like that. (I know, i know, its early days :p)

I just can't help but think this is cheating.

I'm not going to say it's easy, because its not. But so far this has been the least stressful way of quitting that i've found.

My thanks go out to all of you for all the information available on this forum.

Nicotine isn't that bad for you on its own; similar to caffeine. If anyone tells you it's cheating they likely never smoked or were the 1% of smokers who had the insane willpower to just quit. The other 99% wouldn't consider it cheating unless they were sore about trying to quit with other methods over and over and failing over and over. Whatever works for you to get off the real thing.

It's pretty much the same as using a nicotine inhalator that doesn't produce vapour, and that's not seen as cheating either. Most NRTs use nicotine, ecigs use nicotine as well but it actually works so vape up a storm and be glad you're off the old coffin nails.

Remember the old blowing cigarette smoke into a Kleenex thing? Do it with your e-cig, and see the difference.
Think about that difference when you start to think about not cheating.

Sure it's cheating because it's every bit as pleasurable and satisfying as smoking. But it is much healthier and it works to keep people off cigarettes.

I have guilt because my 3 younger sisters quit cold turkey. I assuage my guilt with a promise that I would not let vaping escalate my nicotine addiction nor my need for TH. I don't let myself vape constantly, and I actually worked my nicotine level down until I am now on a level that's lower than any cigarettes. My need is less desperate now - I could probably quit totally if I wasn't so weak-minded. But at least I am not smoking.
