I have this in my cupboard right now

http://www.walnutcreekfoods.com/Walnut-Creek-Lemon-Flavoring-p/733403.htm

Some of their other flavors have xanthan gum in them which sucks because the coffee is so accurate. Anyway I was going to try to DIY a basil lemonade using a tiny amount of pure basil eo but I don't have any money for fw lemonade right now so I thought is see how this worked in the meantime if it it safe

I would be more worried about weather it will vape cleanly than safety. It's an emulsifier that allows for suspension of solutions. It may help to mix the ejuice. I'd suggest a very small batch and try on a dripper if you have one available, just to see how quickly it would gunk things up, if it will. Otherwise, it's just as GRAS as all the other ingredients we use :)

Realize that food safe is not necessarily vape safe -- with the classic example being movie popcorn. You stomach is much "heartier" and more protective than lungs. The best vape sellers have generally analyzed their flavors and any that contain known or questionably harmful ingredients excluded. I buy flavors for ~$1.50/8ml -- to me this seems pretty cheap. Without history or known good, I would personally stay away from vaping the unknowns. Just my $.02

I just reread your post and previously overlooked some details you provided. It sounds like you're using your head. Good luck and be safe.

BTW: I was referring to xanthan gum, not the specific flavor. The specific flavor doesnt raise any red flags so I'd personally attempt it through a dripper first, not vaping, but watching the vapor and then attempting a very small inhale to see if it seems off.

Obviously better safe than sorry; but, this doesnt seem that it'd pose that much of a risk. Natural flavors, and ingredients that mirror/match ejuice already.
