Is this normal?

Hi, I just started vaping last month. I'm using an "Envy Ego Elite" though I cant find anyone else using that brand on this forum, I've looked. Anyway about a week after I first started vaping the liquid in my e cig started doing something I dont know if its normal or not. I've included pictures. Hard to describe but it has created these 2 jelly like lines in the container, I poked them with a stick and they are jelly like, I dont know if this is normal or if I should remove these. Doesnt seem to effect the vaping much, not that I've noticed but I have nothing to compare it to since this is my first e-cig. I do get a dry rough throat sometimes but I've heard that could be do to my throat being dry. Any input is appreciated, thx. 2013-10-13-64416.jpg2013-10-13-64476.jpg2013-10-13-65418.jpg

As far as the dry mouth, propylene glycol and vegetable glycerin are humectants, they attract water. Using them in vaping attracts YOUR water, dry mouth is common. About all we can do about that is drink more water.

As far as the jelly, some ejuices will gunk up your wicks, especially thicker juices or juices with an excess of sweetener. Most vapers clean their tanks/wicks after each couple of fills to prevent this. Use vodka, grain alcohol (Everclear), or a 1:2 white vinegar solution to clean, rinse thoroughly (especially vinegar - blecch!), blot and air dry.

If you're talking about the brownish lines in the pics (hard to see) it looks lie they're your wicks... and they look pretty gunky. Can you replace them? Maybe you need to clean it out. Have you changed out your tanks at all since you got it? It could just be time to replace your wicks/coils. Dirty or over used wicks can give you a weird taste. And if they're gunked up enough fresh juice wont be able to easily get in there. I look around for your model and can't find anything.

I havent found any info on this model either which makes me worry. Might switch to a different model. Thx for the info like I said I'm new and didnt even realise those were my wicks. when I bought this the lady at the counter told me to rinse it with water, but that doesnt seem to be cleaning them. I'll try cleaning it with alchohol. I do like the Envy battery, is it ok to mix and match batteries and tanks of different brands? Thx for the help sorry for the crappy quality pics.

Don't just rinse, cover them with water/whatever cleaning liquid you use, and soak a few minutes. It's fine to mix and match batteries and tanks as long as the threads are the same type.

Oh No, your atomizer has been evaded by Jelly Wormies from another dimension. They are attracted to the subatomic particles that are given off when nic juice is atomized. They are friendly and cause no harm, but if you make a cap out of Reynolds Aluminum and wear it while vapping, it should block the particles.

Naw, just the wicks that I can see. They will tend to gunk up upon use. When your vape becomes subpar, then it's time to get a new atomizer. The one you have doesn't look re-buildable to me. You can try to clean it with hot water or vodka, when it's needed. But doubt that it can be recoiled.

Your best bet is to look at the Aspire Vivi Nova BDC or a Protank, they both have replaceable heads. Do some research before you buy anything, and end up with something you can't use.

I started out not wanting rba's or fussing with anything, just plug and play. Now am heavily into rba's and DIY juice, and loving it. Vapping is a progressive hobby/disease. One day you are just screwing a prefilled carto onto a cigalike, and before you know it, you are buying 100' of Kanthal A1 28awg resistant wire, boiling cotton balls in water, buying lab ware, VG, PG, and flavor extract. Information on this sight can be your best friend for information on what is out there and what can be done. Use it wisely!

Welcome to the forum, and good luck on your journey.

Vape long and Prosper!!

Googling the Envy lineup they sell the clearomizers...they refer to them as CE4's which I would almost bet have 510 threading...

Absolutely FLOORED at the $9.99 price though...OUCH!
https://www.envycig.com/electronic-cigarettes/product/envy-ego-premium/s/starter-packs/?ProdID=122

Clearomizer holds about 1.6 mls of e-liquid, and is compatible with all Ego-Tank or Joye Tech Ego batteries
Yup..510 threaded...any industry standard clearomizer, tank or accessory will work with your rig

CE4 are non-serviceable...you can wash em out

CE4S and higher are what is referred to as "serviceable" clearomizers, you can unscrew the unit, replace the head, wash it out and re-use a complete fresh setup vs just throwing the whole shebang in the trash once it gets fouled up and clogged/burnt...you can also get MUCH cheaper CE4S's or higher (from China) for ALOT less...(I ordered a 10 pack for $16.60-$1.60 a piece)

Welcome and Vape On!!!

I had the exact same questions as you did when I started vaping. My setup was not a name I saw anywhere else, and I finally figured that it was kind of a "store brand" name. It turns out it was just aan inexpensive eGo type battery.

As for your funky gel like lines, those are indeed the wicks. They draw the liquid into the atomizer. My tank was a pinkish color so I couldn't see in there clearly and it confounded me for days!

Congratulations on vaping. Lots of questions will pop up but someone here is always happy to help.

Wow, I'm really impressed with the help from y'alls responses. That video especially enlightened me a good deal. Gonna work on cleaning this thing out, I would like to keep it if I could get it working right I just knew something was wrong the quality of hits was decreasing. I do remember liking the performance of it when it was new. May try out another brand to compare. I tried searching this stuff myself the other night and after hours the only thing that helped was finding this site. Great advice and help.
