I use the Twist with an vivi nova. I've heard people talking about "dry hit" but never really understood what it meant. Well, I realize now that sometimes when the juice in the tanks gets low, I can get a burnt/weird tasting hit even with a new head. I don't think this is due to the heading going bad because things will get better later, so it's not consistent. With a bad head, I should consistently get a bad taste, which is not the case.

So is that the dry hit that ppl talk about? Perhaps as the juice gets low, there is not enough wicking action to bring enough juice to the coils fast enough as one takes frequent puffs?

Yep, that would be a dry hit. With the vivi nova, I find that tilting the ecig every now and then...

... is not what I wanna pay for!

It's not absolute. So the OP is correct...the wick is "getting dry" but isn't necessarily totally dry. So, I'd day it's a matter of degree. So damthisisfun...that's a REALLY DRY hit. :)

Every freaking e-cig gadget I've come across gets a wicking issue at one time or another. Some wick well for quite a while before you have to maintain them, others not so well. Those little carts on standard atomizers were a real pain. We used to go through all sorts of mods to them to get them to hold juice and wick. lol. Search for "pyramid tea bag mod" sometime. lol. It worked, but better things exist.

Now that you know what a "getting dry" hit is like, you can try dripping if you want. Getting-dry = time to drop 3 ish drops into the atomizer.

:)

I thgt a dry hit was similar to vaping a brand new atty with no juice - that nasty burning HOT that hits the throat - UGGGGGG......cant even describe what it tastes like - metallic, nasty - dunno

Oh man, you get a hit like that and aaaaaaaaah! I have been "burned" literally and figuratively trying a hybrid 1.5 ohm atomizer in my Vmod 2.0. I just could not get the squonk to vape ratio down. Off came that thing and on went a bottom feed carto. No comparison, very forgiving!

I got my vivi nova yesterday at it ROCKED.

And then it stopped rocking. Within 48 hours. All three attys, at different voltages. Nothing worked. My 2.4 ohm atty at 3.7 volts went black and made my juice taste nasty within less than 48 hours.

/facepalm

I'm ready to throw the whole tank idea out the window. Not even that, just nuke it. I'm enraged right now. NOTHING works for me consistently. NOTHING.

And I've tried so many things. They all come with promises and they work well... at first. And then EVERYTHING usually craps out on me. Out of the 9 atomizers I've purchased, TWO worked consistently well.

My clearos... I'll save the cussing...

Cartomizers make my favorite juice taste like crap.

I'm so, so, so disappointed and frustrated right now.

I will buy some replacement attys for my vivi nova, and if it STILL sucks... Well, then. Dammit.

Rocket!!!

Oh wow. Hang in there. There are solutions for you but we have to communicate and all work together. Start a thread. Seriously. Better to start a thread than go back to smoking!

It's NOT uncommon to have a "Everything is malfunctioning" day/week/month with this stuff. And plenty of people have started a thread and worked it out. DON'T GIVE UP!

I did. I've done as much research as my google-fu and youtube savvy allowed me, and I followed all the advice. How come people on here rave about this thing? It was awesome! But for less than 48 hours. I wrote an email to gotvapes and haven't gotten a reply yet, either.

We rave about them because they work incredibly well. I use the 1.8 ohm head on a standard eGo and a 2.4 ohm head on a Spinner. They definitely like 4.0 volts or less though. One Nova head has lasted a good 5 tank refills so far.

I can barely stand my vivi nova. I use VV devices, and it just doesn't work on them, no matter what head is installed. I went back to my cartomizer tank. SOOO much better.

What carto/tank do you use? Details!!

I also use the Smoktech DCT which is an awesome performer. I prefer the 1.7 ohm single coil Smoktech but the 1.5 ohm dual coil works well too.

Yup, those work great on non-variable volt devices, but not needed on VV. Lower resistances give the same effect (hotter and more vape) as a VV battery with a standard resistance single coil. Basically, if you don't have VV, use LR and/or DC. If you do have it, just stick with SR singles.
