I'm wondering why they sent it to Obama. Last time I checked it was the Congress in charge with making laws. Are they looking for an "executive order"? Or just publicity?
Because Obama's well versed in bending over at the whim of special interests at the cost of public/childrens health?

it almost looks fake ... really Obama?

I think it is BT or ANTZ who has paid to put this out there ... they really are getting desperate.

Even if they do succeed with banning online sales and open tank systems for cigalikes ... there is a ton of quality product already out there, the truth will still come out in how successful vaping is for quitting smoking ... even if it takes the Black Market to prove it.

as I mentioned earlier ... Doctors are simply going to have to speak up soon ... they will be changing their tune from, we just don't know enough  ... to, we are just seeing too many ex-smokers who are showing drastic health improvements with vaping.

I really do believe vaping is the quit smoking miracle the world has been waiting for ... I've also said how I believe every smoker in the world will convert or quit within 20 years ... I also do not believe we will see 20 year vapers showing severe health concerns from vaping.

nobody saw this coming ... BT, BG, and BP are freaking out

this may become the shortest prohibition BG has ever tried to pull off :2cool:

Ask, and ye shall be told ;)

It's because the deeming regulations just hit the desk of the DHHS, and now it's simply a matter of process. DHSS > 30 days > OMB> Public Consultation > 30 days > Signed off. (note, I probably have the process wrong here, but it's not too dissimilar).

If Obama speeds things along (leans on his executive agencies), deeming will happen early next year.

I've stockpiled. I have no empathy for industry. In my dreams of perfect world it should die out with last ex-smoker quitting smoking. I abstain of "the fight". I have nothing to fight for.
Yeah, forget all those smokers who haven't quit yet, or all those people who will take up smoking no matter what anybody does. The government doesn't actually care about their health, why should we?

:nah:

I choose to fight, not only for myself, or for the industry, but for the future.

In answer to your question, no - it's not. Here are the exact questions the CDC asks on usage of E-Cigarettes in the National Youth Tobacco Survey. In each case answer "I" is one of 10 possible answers and is: "Electronic cigarettes, such as Ruyan or NJOY":

I strongly suggest you look at what they are asking in regards to actual smoked cigarettes, and tell me whether they should be presenting the data as equivalent. There are 14 questions specifically asking about cigarettes.

Looks like something I'd gladly answer, we had a smoking section at our high school; too bad ecigs weren't available then.

From what I understand, youth usage of cigarettes are down to 9% from 12% just 3 years ago.

I've heard the same from an e-cig supplier in California (who themselves do not sell any e-liquid to minors). In their opinion, there are quite a few never-smokers using e-cigs for the "tricks and flavors" but none of them are using nicotine.

Here's the link (pdf) to the current NYTS questionnaire.

For whatever reason my computer won't load the PDF. When I was in school I got pretty sick and tired of answering test questions. Had diagnosed and untreated (except for cigarettes) ADHD and by the time I'd answered about 20 questions I just put in random answers. For those that looked at it, how many questions were there?

There are 81 questions total, I'll break them down and edit this post with the numbers.
    Here's the breakdown:
    Personal 5
    "tobacco" 3
    cigarettes 14
    cigars 5
    smokeless 5
    pipe 2
    other(including e-cig) 3
    tobacco perceptions/marketing 15
    quitting 6
    SHS exposure 10
    Thoughts about tobacco 7 (2 include e-cigs)
    TC related 6

The three questions "about" e-cigs are:
Which of the following tobacco products have you everheard of? (You can CHOOSE ONE ANSWER or MORETHAN ONE ANSWER)

Which of the following tobacco products have you evertried, even just one time? (You can CHOOSE ONEANSWER or MORE THAN ONE ANSWER)

In the past 30 days, which of the following products haveyou used on at least one day? (You can CHOOSE ONEANSWER or MORE THAN ONE ANSWER)

with the choices for all three being:

    Roll-your-own cigarettes
Flavored cigarettes, such as Camel Crush
Bidis (small brown cigarettes wrapped in a leaf)
    Clove cigars (kreteks)
Flavored little cigars (such as mint, clove, spice, alcohol (wine, cognac), candy, fruit, chocolate, or other sweets)
Smoking tobacco from a hookah or a waterpipe
Snus, such as Camel or Marlboro Snus
Dissolvable tobacco products, such as Ariva, Stonewall, Camel orbs, Camel sticks, or Camel strips
Electronic Cigarettes or E-cigarettes, such as Ruyan or NJOY
Some other new tobacco products not listed here
I have never heard of any of the products listed above or any new tobacco product

Thank you! Not necessary to break them down if you don't want to. Just loaded another PDF that work fine.
No worries, I was bored, and I think it's important for people to see the "extent" of this survey data, most won't go through the actual pdf.
