Letter I'm about to send to my local senator. Wanted some feed back fast so I can send it within the next hour... I'd love your thoughts! What I should change, ect.

Subject: Please Don't Be Apart Of Killing People!

This message is not only to do with health care but also civil liberty and the environment as well. Your website Mr. Blumenthal says one thing about your character but sadly your actions are screaming the opposite. Your actions to push the FDA to ban the sale of nicotine liquid for electronic cigarettes will kill people!

About 85% of people assume electronic cigarettes are as dangerous as real cigarettes simply of ignorance and assumption. Such who believe that to be the scenario typically know no facts about them.

I URGE YOU TO PLEASE VISIT CASAA | The Consumer Advocates for Smoke-Free Alternatives Association

Electronic cigarettes are saving lives and keeping people off of actual tobacco! By advocating for "Non-Face-to-Face Sale and Distribution of tobacco Products and Advertising, Promotion, and Marketing of tobacco Products" rule come to pass is to let Big Tobacco win. Are you truly anti-smoking? If you are, please for the love of god at least look into the facts about electronic cigarettes. Try to read the stories of those who's health has become 100x better after switching to them. So many people say that they feel they "Have A New Lease On Life" once switching. When a person switches to an electronic cigarette they stop wheezing, coughing, they are not inhaling 4,000 chemicals but about 3-4 liquids that are commonly found in foods.

Environmentally, with electronic cigarettes there are not dirty butts all around. It cuts down tremendously the chances of a house fire. As you may already know the leading cause of home fire health is cigarettes. There is no burning at all with an electronic version. There is no 2nd hand smoke that would harm others, only water vapor.

I urge to be informed on this very important issue. Lives ARE on the line. Pushing to ban the sale of nicotine liquid is basically telling people "We want you to SMOKE, we want those death taxes!" With all my heart I hope you are not that kind of person and don't want to send such a sad message to Americans. Many people want to quit, for a majority approved cession devices do not work, Chantix makes people go crazy, and electronic cigarettes are their last hope.

Please don't let the small "chance" of minors trying to purchase things online tobacco related infringe on the rights of adults to make decisions. There are plenty of laws on the books already about minors and tobacco. If history has taught us anything teenagers with a rebellious streak... Well, it doesn't matter what rule or law you try to put into place. They WILL find a way, and it's not as if they do not know cigarettes are bad for you at this point. Further, it is not the government's job to continually try to protect people from themselves or tell parents how to parent.
This is just going too far. It makes me wonder, am I really in the Land Of The Free or some alternate dimension nanny state the United States was never meant to be?

Once again I must reiterate please visit CASAA | The Consumer Advocates for Smoke-Free Alternatives Association to learn the truth about this life saving device.

Sincerely & With Hope The Senator Actually Reads My E-mail,

I got a response! Not sure if it's genuine or from staff but it sure was quick! Sadly I'm still brain farting on my rough draft of a letter to mass send by e-mail and real mail to a list of congress people and other senators. I am determined though! I want to make something better then this letter, more educational and so on.

Response:

Dear Ms. J....,

Thank you for your thoughtful message regarding electronic cigarettes. I always appreciate hearing from the people of Connecticut.

I have spent over twenty years working to protect the interests of Connecticut and I look forward to continuing this work in the U.S. Senate.

My top priority will be working on issues that will benefit the people of Connecticut and the nation as a whole. You have made a compelling argument regarding electronic cigarettes, and as I continue to serve in the Senate, I will be sure to keep your views in mind.

Please feel free to reach out to me with any future questions or concerns.

Sincerely,

Richard Blumenthal
United States Senate

I got a response from Blumenthal on an entirely different subject-
