My question is, Are Unflavored e-Juices sold for mixing truly Unflavored or does the Nicotine make them bitter?

The reason I ask is that I bought a small bottle of 36mg Unflavored e-juice to start getting into DIY mixing. It was advertised as PG base. It is dark Yellow in color and has a Funky, Bitter Flavor.

I'm not sure if it is Old, Has gone Bad or is actualy Tabocco Flavor?

Also, Can someone recommend a seller inside the USA that sells 36mg or 32mg Unflavored e-juice for mixing that comes in 50% VG / 50% PG or something similar.

Thank You.

If anything ya should have a bit of a sweet taste to the liquid pure PG at lest all I have ever bought is sweet, I would talk to the vendor and see if they have had any issues.
A slight yellowing isn't bad it just means that oxygen has got to it, it isn't bad. I have some for my personal use that is the color of urine, I love it hits like a truck but no taste.

This is Definitely a Bitter Taste. Not quite a tobacco taste, just plain bad.

The more I thing about it, Pure PG might be OK if the nicotine mg was high enough. Then I would cut it down with VG and end up with something close to 50% VG to 50%PG

Where did you get yours? Do you have a link to their site?

The worst unflavored I ever had was brownish and had a very slight copper taste. Like an old penny smells. It worked great for tobacco flavors and other strong flavors.

Never tried it with a light flavor like blueberry or pear.

I now only buy from MFS, or Xtreme, but Levy is pulling way ahead in my order of suppliers so I'll probably be sticking with Xtreme for now.

To be honest any pg out there will work well for it. Just make sure that it is USP or food grade.
Did you get the PG from the same supplier? If not drip some pg and vape it, then the vg, if they taste off they are bad, if not the nic needs to be replaced,
and yellow is okay for nic brown that should have been disposed of, that stuff is expired.

THAT'S KINDA WHAT IT TASTES LIKE !!! Copper pennies soaked in old gym socks.

I was try to mix Watermellon and to mask the bad taste of the 36mg base I had to and a ton of LorAnn flavor. It just isn't working.

My Freedom Smokes has 50/50 unflavored in 36mg strength.

Just be sure to request this mix in the instructions box when you check out.

I guarantee that Chris reads those. I forgot to specify PG or VG once, and he tried for three days to contact me to ask which I preferred. Many suppliers would have just shipped PG and been done with it, but he goes the extra mile to get it right.

I just vaped my unflavored nic juice (PG based cut to 25 mg with VG) just to see if there was any flavor to the nicotine and it has no flavor. Did it on a clean atty too, so there was no residual flavor left over.

Just had to test, I know after I make a batch of flavored nic juice I cannot taste anything but the flavor I added also.

And copper pennies soaked in gym socks must be awful, I'm cringing just thinking about it.

36mg PG base would have a taste to it, but nothing like you are describing. The juice you are talking about sounds like it has gone very very bad:nah:

Sounds very vary bad to me too. I haven't had anything go bad on me yet, so I can only comment on the how the fresh "taste". But if I had that I would toss it.

I would think anything you mix would taste nasty, like Cherry Gym Socks

Some of the Chinese juices, like Dekang, can have a strong taste. I suspect it is from their nic extraction methods which take some tobacco components with it. I don't have concrete info on that though, but they do have a strong taste/color that I personally found offensive, and immediately went with US juice-makers.

Nic itself does stink. Sort of a pungent sweet fishy smell. It is mildly present in my MFS 100 mg VG unflavored...as it should be: it has a lot of nic in it! It is not colored, however...looked like pure VG when I got it. My TW 36 mg PG and Vermont Vapor 35 mg VG unflavored juices have almost no taste or color. Color will grow in with all of these as it is exposed to the air. Nic forms oxides which will be yellow to brown depending on how much has reacted. In general, even juices strongly yellowed with oxides will be >99% of their original strength. It takes very little to make the juice yellow.

But unflavored nic juice should be colorless, or very close to colorless, when you receive it. If it isn't, that means it was either the nic is from a poor extraction, or else the juice is old and has been in contact with air a long time. Either way, that is not the juice for me. I would be returning it for a refund, or tossing it and buying from a better supplier.

I test this as soon as I receive it. It has no taste, as a matter of fact I hate testing nic liquid. Because I order 50mg, I cut it down 5 drops of ea Nic/PG, my liquid is PG based. I am pretty sure Levy does custom PG/VG mixes. Shoot him an e-mail

Thank you All… I think I’m getting a handle on the entire concept.

What made things a problem was I have only seen / tasted one bottle of “Unflavored” juice. I had nothing to gage it by.

Also, the semantics of “Unflavored” kinda threw me. Here is what I mean…

Say you walk into your local supermarket wanting to buy a case of bottled water and a can of coffee. When you get to the water section you notice about 30 different types of water. Lemon Flavored, Lime flavored, Tea Flavored, etc. You ask a clerk where is the “Unflavored” water and he points you where they are.

Now you get to the Coffee section. You see that there is Mint Flavored, Chocolate Flavored, Cinnamon Flavored. Etc. You see the same clerk and ask him where the Unflavored” coffee is. With a put out look, he points to where they are.

So now you have “Unflavored” water and “Unflavored” Coffee. The water doesn’t really have any taste what so ever. But the coffee definitely has a taste. They both are “Unflavored” meaning that nothing was added to the Original flavor.

It sounds to me like “Unflavored” high nicotine juice for mixing should be relative clear and not have much of a taste at all. I think what I have/had was either a juice that had gone bad, extremely poor quality or a Tobacco flavored juice. Perhaps all three. Either way, I tossed it.

One last question. I went to to XtremeVaping. What’s the deal with “Pink Tainted” juice? Has anyone tried it? I’m a little twisted up over e-Juice, does it sound safe to you guys? The price seems too good to be true.

Thanks again for the replies.
