As to why I don't buy the Provari? Because I love my MVP 2, and I'm lazy to the point where I just don't want to have to remove my batteries to charge them. I am also now used to VW.
Those kinds of batteries eventually die and you can't/very hard to replace them. Removable batteries you just swap out easy.

Lol money was certainly a motivating factor with my starting, but I am also a youth football referee and after being a PAD smoker for 30 years I found I couldn't run with kids anymore. After a month of vaping I can already tell this next season will be loads better :)

I coached my sons little league football team (9-10) and now we are moving up to 11-12 yr old league. not as easy to keep up with them the older, faster, and stronger they get. used to think i was in ok shape even with smoking as i am a fairly active guy. I was mistaken. so the money saved is a by-product of the health benefits for me. but even living in the south where a pack of smokes averages $5 a pack, my mod has payed for itself in a few weeks.

In Australia, with ciggies up to $20 per pack with the newest round of cash grabs, I mean taxes, vaping can be considerably cheaper. A new addiction to GG products however has put a rather large dent in the budget. Having to import nicotine is also a pain in the ... as it cannot be sold here. Here's hoping my current set ups last me for a while.

I know. And as this is turning into a hobby for me, I'll likely get one at some point. I spent loads on different toppers though in the last month, trying to find the right one for me. Now that I've settled on carto tanks, I just need to take it easy on other types of vape gear for a bit, and then get as Provari.

It does kind of depend. One of my goals as a hobbyist is to do it as cheaply as possible--it's a fun challenge.

So for me, DIY and I rebuild Kanger T3 heads (yeah, I know). Materials to rebuild are about $15 for six months, liquid is about $60 for six months at 10 ml per day, and I do occasionally have to replace batteries to the tune of $20 every six months or so.

Grand total...$95 for six months, $190 per year. Per year. Even assuming I break a tank, add $7. :)

When I first started I spent WAY more then I did on cigs. Now ive calmed down with my orders and make my own juice. I figure all together I came out spending less then on smokes. The thing about smoking thou, is you burn the damn things and then have nothing to show for it. With vaping you end up with all kinds of fun little doohickeys that you get to play with.

Just did the math yesterday trying to find a fair but, fun vaping budget number. Figured that if I spend half of what cigs used to cost me I'd have enough to support the buying of juice/coils (using 10ml bottle prices) but, after I find a couple ADVs (and buy them in large bottles) I should have a enough to buy a new piece of kit every other month or so.
