One sentence which always freak me out:

"...maybe we will see a sudden spike in lung-cancers in the future because of vaping..."

And then i feel like I want to go back to smoking, because there I know I can get a lung-cancer and I am ready for it, with vaping I don't know and I will be embarrassed in front of everyone if I get lung-cancer...

Let's get real here. Even as ex-smokers, we all have a substantially higher risk of lung cancer than never smokers do. That risk declines over time, but it never gets down to the level of a never-smoker.

That said, I have yet to see anything that indicates that vapor contains anything likely to cause cancer, whereas smoke most certainly does.

It should be possible to identify former smokers who are now vapers and simply follow them and see if they live longer or develop fewer serious illnesses than smokers with the same background who are still smoking. If the study group is large enough and involves older people the answers might come pretty fast. My hunch is the difference would be substantial, not subtle and favorable for vaping.

That risk declines over time, but it never gets down to the level of a never-smoker.
This may be right if in fact the lingering health risks last as long as we have been led to believe.
It has been known that roughly 50% of all habitual smokers quit on there own between the
ages of 30-40 years. It was noted after the fact that these people still developed the same
smoking related diseases at the same age non-tobacco users would tend to develop them which kept
the overall rate higher than expected since theoretically there were less smokers in the age group.
The non-users plus the ex-users.
So instead of looking for another possible cause of the onset of these illnesses in a group that as
a whole were not using cigarettes the theory of lingering risk was developed to account for the
discrepancies. I am not saying there is no extended risk. What I am suggesting is it has been
greatly overestimated. Halfway trough the last century over 40% of the adult population smoked.
Almost another 40% had tried smoking. Along the way the risk factor has been expanded to include
100% of smokers whether they quit or not. Over all numbers of illnesses in smokers has come down
but does not reflect the dramatic decline in the smoking population has a whole. At the same time
so called smoking related illness is increasing in life time non-user groups. This as a whole does
not mean smoking is not bad for you. It means smoking perhaps is not as bad overall as we have
been led to believe.
If this is in fact true there is no way anyone can say vaping is bad for you. There isn't even
antidotal evidence aside from normal allergic reactions or misuse.

"...maybe we will see a sudden spike in lung-cancers in the future because of vaping..."
Maybe we will see a sudden spike in longer living people because of vaping.
Maybe we will see a sudden spike in murders because of vaping.
Maybe we will see more tornadoes because of vaping.

Maybe.................

But this is because of second-hand smoke! Didn't you know?!! How and why not?
You are so quick to dismiss third-hand smoke as the cause?

Yah, i know what you meant with this...BUT! Lung-cancer is the smokers biggest fear and sentence like this can easily make smokers say no to switching from smoking to vaping... Smoker will say: "Why switching to vaping if I can get lung-cancer from vaping sooner than from smoking as guy on YT said... It's better to smoke or neither of them. I will not go with neither so I will smoke rather than vape...".

"Vaping looks like smoking so definetly cause cancer. And is more dangerous. And there is even more "smoke". And a lots of harmful chemicals. And guy on YT channel WIRED said that in the future will be a sudden spike in the lung cancers because of vaping..." That are the words from non-smokers especially in my country.

What is your country?

And yes, you are right.
This is just one more media hit piece.

It seems some would expect better from WIRED.
I know what/who WIRED is, but have never really paid any attention to them.

But it seems that expecting better from them is not always a fruitful endeavor.

My county is Slovenia. Most corrupted country in EU i believe. We will have 200% sin tax on e-cigs and e-liquids because we must consider e-cigarette as equal dangerous as tobacco cigarettes... Why? Our PHD said that the reason for so high taxing is a lack of evidence on inhaling vapor from e-cigarettes long-term... End of story. They won't listen to anybody. England PHD are amateurs for them. And ecigs are a tobacco industry product for recruiting young people into smoking tobacco cigarettes... And so on.

Wow, I'm truly sorry to hear that.
We don't hear much about Slovenia around here, but it sounds very bad.

On the other hand, it sounds like you're leading the pack in future regulation.

Perhaps your government is more enlightened than most.
Or maybe just less fearful of the truth being set free.
