Firs off - have not read through all the posts yet, so apologise if I regurgitate something which has already been stated.

Personally my enthusiasm for vaping comes and goes. I may be constantly checking ECF for months straight then just weekly etc. Same thing goes for interest in new vape gear. This translates over to my other interests as well. The way I see it is - if I eat, sleep and breathe something 24/7 then I will get burnt out. I'd rather take a back seat for a few weeks until the itch returns than for that to ever happen.

I enjoyed every minute of exploring the vaping world for two and a half years :) I wasn't searching for something better then what I already had, I just enjoyed trying different things to see for myself how I felt about them. Over 7 months ago now I lost my desire to try new things. I'm now very content just coasting on maintenance mode, which for me, requires very few purchases since my stash could keep me happily vaping for many years. :) A new vaping toy every few months still keeps vaping fun :) but I could easily live without anything new at this point and probably far into my future.

The battle to protect vaping is what's most important to me to today. I'm fed up with the lies and fear mongering about ecigs that's happening so often today. :grr: I sat in a work related meeting today where a woman from Smoke Free Now told everyone she was available to speak anywhere in my area to help educate people on the evils of ecigs. She said, in part,, Did ya know that teenagers at ALARMING rates are using ecigs and getting hooked on nicotine? Ecigs are the newest health crisis to hit the country and we MUST put a stop to them before even more of our teenagers become hooked on nicotine.

As difficult as it was for me, I was not in a position at the time to be able to confront her on the lies and fear mongering she was doing, but the playing field won't always favor her ability to speak without being confronted so at some point I will be able to confront her lies and fear mongering.

So I guess one could say my interest in exploring the world of vaping has passed but my passion for telling the truth and stopping the lies and fear mongering has only increased as times gone on.

I smoked 48 years and you can bet I'm in it for life. Best thing that ever happened to me and my purse. I started right off the bat with a budget of half what I spent on cigs. Now I rarely spend even that on a monthly basis but have been stocking up little by little and you would be surprised just how much ahead you can be in a couple years.

I'm glad I read this thread in it's entirety (to the point it is). I started looking for a "healthier" alternative to smoking. I figured, if vaping didn't work, then I would keep searching. Thankfully (and I mean on my knees yelling THANK YOU!) vaping is working.

I honestly started looking at it as a nicotine replacement. Then in March when I started lurking in ECF, I started to ssslllooowwwlllyyy realize it was going to turn into a hobby. I'm really enjoying learning as much as I can and am really starting to read more about RBA's and DIY E-Juice.

Over the past couple of weeks, I have started to look more into the activism aspect of vaping. Also more into the education of vaping vs. smoking. It kills me whenever somebody asks me why I'm still smoking and that because there isn't enough research on vaping that it's going to be the next bubonic plague.

So to actually answer the question... I don't think it's a passing phase for myself. I have smoked shisha (aka hooka) for years and to this day, thoroughly enjoy the full ritual and act of it, sharing my knowledge of it and sharing the experience of it with those that have never tried it. While vaping is an entire different animal and I can only see myself learning much more, sharing more and becoming more involved.

I use to buy every mod I could get a deal on i own an svd, vamo, lavatube, 4,5,6 mod, kts storm, tons of rdas, rsst, and many other expensive atomizers, but now days i find my perfect vape is just my 900mah ego battery and my ovape clearomizer, now days i just focus on good juice. Ive deffinatley scaled back a lot on what I use. Not that I don't love all my other mods i just find the most satisfactory vape from an ego and bottom fed clearomizer

Holy Crap! It is unbelievable. I wonder if this is what they are led to believe or knowingly spreading lies....

Like many, it seems, I'm far more content now to just sit back and enjoy my daily vape rather than looking for new goodies, but I still find myself cruising the websites (like ........'s) and drooling over some of the new stuff...

As it is I expect at some point in the future I'll give up vaping entirely the same way I finally did cigarettes... It'll take a good long while I expect, but that's the longterm plan - cut the nic down to zero and, finally, wean myself off vaping entirely...

Will it actually happen? Hard to say because I really do enjoy the process of vaping itself and the social aspects of it like ECF... :)

Oh, Lord. That is unbelievable. I wasn't there and I don't know where you work, and I don't know the nature of the meeting, but I question how appropriate it was for her to take company time to solicit these opinions. Was she trying to solicit donations? Is she an employee, a vendor, a visitor?

I'm just glad I wasn't there. I probably would have been fired. :)

Me too! I guess it depends on the situation though, now that I think about it. Depending on the company, maybe take some facts to the owner. Do these people solicit companies to go talk to? Or do companies reach out to quit smoking groups? I would be very interested in finding that out.

Hmmm another thought, are insurance companies getting these people in to talk? This just burns my buttocks!

Holy Crap! It is unbelievable. I wonder if this is what they are led to believe or knowingly spreading lies....

Whenever you have pogroms, or propaganda campaigns, it's invariably a mixture of both. In our postmodern world, it's already a deplorable but well-established cultural norm for prominent people to hold whatever opinions they're getting paid to hold, and express whatever "truths" they're getting paid to express. How much this "belief system for hire" becomes internalized and sincere varies of course from person to person. But once a series of lies becomes successfully disseminated, they more or less become accepted as valid by mass numbers of people who either have no incentive to think deeply about a particular issue or lack critical thinking skills in general...

... And because of both the evolution of the social science and the explosion of communications technology, corporate power now has an array of propaganda distribution mechanisms unrivaled in the history of the known world. Goebbels would have been envious...

After a month and a half I'm in the phase of looking for equipment and liquids that I can settle on for awhile. I haven't really gotten there yet. There's so much choice out there it gets overwhelming sometimes. I'm not really looking for the Perfect Vape, just a pretty good vape with minimal issues and maintenance. That part is getting tiring. I put stuff in a cart at a vendor and before I buy it I say "wait, why am I buying this again? I don't really need it."

I do enjoy watching PBusardo videos. It's not like he's a barrel of laughs or anything, but he's just interesting to watch.

Regarding 'twice as many' teenagers trying ecigs than the previous year, I wonder if that might also be true of adults.

"Twice as many" is nothing but hyperbole to inspire fear...2 is twice as many as 1, or a 100% increase. These kinds of statements mean nothing without actual numbers behind them.

But I remember reading that the number of smokers picking up vaping in the last 2 years is in the millions. That's something to be proud of.
