I have read that already. They are talking about mechanical devices.

PBusadro goes over the L-rider which has a 2.5 amp limit so that should be expected. The L-rider also does not use PWM. Skip to 10:40~ to see the charts.

Sorry, I was half asleep when I posted that comment. I should have been in bed. I mis-read what you meant.

Wait hang on a sec -

Still though.

The lambo advertises a 4 amp limit or 3.5 - I can't remember - and it doesn't use PWM- the zmax and pvari do and pbusardo does go into great detail on the voltage specs Including RMA and Mean mode

But the lambo just like the lavatube doesn't use PWM last time I checked. And even with a 3.5 amp limit. How could it only max out at 4v with a 2 ohm coil ? That's only 2 amps using an AW ImR 18350

My numbers might be off on the zmax due to PWM but I don't think they are wrong on the lambo. We are way off topic here though

I'm getting my 18490 in the mail today so I will be Doing some sanding on the top and bottom contacts on the I-winter

I can sand the bottom and top by hand right? It will take a while I'm sure. 10 minute Intervals over the course of 3 hours I bet is the average completion time

Took me about an hour to do the bottom tube using emery cloth, but I was very careful to keep it flat. You want maximum battery contact so I didn't want to sand it "crooked".

The top post I removed by pushing it out from the 510 connection end. I used a dremel to remove most of the brass (flat grinding stone) and the emery to finish up. About 1/2 hour. I still want better battery contact there so I'm going to mount it in the drill press at my shop and flatten it more -- I just haven't got around to it.

Got the silver-plated spring in from Datalux today -- thanks again! :D

Unfortunately it's too big to fit into the brass sleeve unmodified. When I have some more time, I plan to try to reduce the outside diameter, but the wire diameter is quite large as well. I'll make it fit if possible.

Sure is a nice looking spring with the silver plating. Almost looks like a jewelry piece.

Shiny!! :) Already made sure I have a .345" bit avail for when my iSeason shows up unless you find another way to do it. (still waiting for the thing to ship!) Kluged the IGO-L onto my Reo Grand last night so I could test it and DANG!! Really need a tube mod ASAP so I can use the IGO-L on a regular basis!

iGo-L with 28gauge 2/3 wrap is crazy!!

Sure is purty.

Okay, I did a bunch of mucking about with the spring -- it's not going to go into the sleeve, even with heavy modification. It's just too big, and it's actually wrapped the wrong way, if that makes sense. Looking from the top of the spring, the stock spring is wrapped clockwise; the Datalux spring is wrapped counter-clockwise. It could possibly be wrapped tighter and made to work, but its wire gauge is *strong*.

Man, I hate being the bearer of bad news on this one, but your 0.345" bit isn't going to work in the brass sleeve. The spring you sent measures a true 0.344", but the brass sleeve is only 0.389" OD. That would leave only 0.0225" of wall remaining on the brass sleeve.

The stock spring is 0.300".

Sorry Datalux! I had high hopes. Maybe you'll get it to work another way, but a smaller spring of smaller gauge would potentially work without modifying the brass sleeve. Since I've modded the iseason to use the sleeve for direct-battery contact, I'm hesitant to modify it by drilling, and there isn't enough room for this spring.

Would you guys be able to post a Link of the exact brass screw that fit your 18650? LxDxthread ?

STair - I started to sand the battery contact on the bottom where the spring screws in - I feel like it will take me 2 weeks without eating or sleeping to sand it down by hand

Did u say u did it by hand or on a sander ?

A 5/16-18 screw will thread into the tube about one turn. If you can find that in brass (threaded rod would be ideal), you won't have to worry about the washer setup, but you'd need to have a screw for each battery. I wish I'd had time to tinker this week -- I have an idea of using a small piece of copper tube to eliminate the spring (which would be simple to cut to length), but I haven't had time to get to the hardware store.

I did the bottom tube by hand. I just used 180 emery cloth on a thick book. I just kept it flat to the book (upside down) and kept going back and forth. You could try a dremel with a flat grinding stone, the ones that look like a "T". I did that for the top post and finished with the emery when I was close.

That is a good idea

Ok I decided to test my efest IMR 18650 and AW IMR 18650 and no name lavaTube V1 18650

At the 510 connection all register 4.1

Efest and aga-t at .9 ohms - 3.1 v
IMR and .9 ohms - 2.8
No name and 9ohms - 2.9

This is just laughable now

I wonder what the smoke telescope gets in terms of voltage drop

I'll sell this one to you guys for cheap and buy that :) I need things to just work - otherwise I get stressed and smoke an analog (I know I'm a little biznitch...)
