I have tried a 5/64 bit. Doesn't fit in the slots. How are you getting it to fit?

Try smaller size. It needs to fit. I have used tooth picks, and they work fine before I picked up a mini screw driver set from dollar store and one of them fit just great for a built.

Cheers

Choc Addi posted some great links. Here's another and the one I used the first time.

Search youtube for Rip Trippers "Mini Protank micro coil build." Follow it to the T.

Should blow your socks off.

And of course continue studying the others as well. You'll be a pro in no time!

Good Luck! ;)

hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm, that's different

don't read many using 34ga and shooting for 3.0Ω

From what I've read that's the desired gauge for 3.0 ohm. I've built a couple of Puck battery mods and they last the longest (all day and then some) with 3.0 ohm coils. I had a bunch of AA rechargeables around so it was a natural choice and I'm quite happy.

this is what I do

then the bonus:

the toothpick is just big enuff to 'wedge' into the "V" on the coil base
which holds everything in place for ya...

est toothpick to be 5/64" (2mm)
my cotton yarn about 2.2mm
makes a perfect match
ultra cheap

ez pz

:)

Thanks for the pictures! It's much easier for me to use the pictures than a video. Darn video just won't stay still while I stare and think!

when I found that pic, it was just THE PIC
I saved the link then referred back to it and it turned into that photobucket string

I was just showing a pic of how I wrap wire around a toothpick

I'm using a .07" precision screwdriver to wind my coils on with 30ga kanthal, 10 wraps consistently gives me 2.3 to 2.4 ohms. I wick with cotton. I get a nice vape with my evod and rgm2 tanks on evod batteries, which are 3.7v. Even though I'm using evod tanks, they are the same coil heads as with the protanks. The .07" screwdriver is just shy of 2mm and fit perfectly in the notch in these heads. I'm getting really consistent builds this way.

prior to getting my 50' spool of 30ga wire, I tried a 3' sample of 31ga from kidney puncher, and did like 7 or 8 wraps to make 2.5ohm coils, and they were pretty nice too. The 31ga is an odd size and runs a little more expensive if you were to try to order it directly from Temco, so I'd just get a spool of 30ga and get coiling!
