Hello All... Sorry that I can't post this in the health section (being a new member and all)

Has anybody heard of e-liquid causing some issues? I be honest I do sometimes accidently have a little liquid on my hand a'lot and do tend to have it go into my mouth very often

My symptoms are, rash on forehead (i'm guessing touching forehead sometimes with the juice on my fingers) So i'm kind of sure that could be that issue.

others are: dodgy stomach, muscle aches/twitches, loose stools and dry throat

I have been through everything like food allergy's etc and it's nothing there and had blood tests etc which have all come back fine.

Then yesterday I finally made a match of symptoms starting when I started vaping... I vape PG until today and have now brought 100% VG as I have seen that PG can cause some issues etc.

Any input on this would REALLY help please

Thanks in advance

hi @jazzyjazzyjazzy , The rash sounds like a PG allergy to me, but I am not a doctor. You didn't mention your nic level or equipment you use to vape, but too high a nicotine can cause stomach issues. You should also read this link :

A list of symptoms when quitting tobacco and changing to an ecigarette | E-Cigarette Forum

There is a keyword activated search box in the upper right above your name and avatar. Practically any vape related word or phrase will work in it giving sometimes hundreds of results. I use it often.

Search Results for Query: stomach issues | E-Cigarette Forum
Search Results for Query: nicotine sick | E-Cigarette Forum
Search Results for Query: muscle aches | E-Cigarette Forum

You might find some answers in these search threads. Good luck in your journey.

Welcome! Glad you are a member :) It could be numerous things. If it is related to vaping, then it almost sounds like the symptoms of too much nicotine. But then again, I do not know if you are using nicotine in your juices or not. If not, then my next best guess would be that you are sensitive to PG............ If you are vaping massive quantities of PG in your juice (like it seems you were) then this would make it even worse. Just because you had allergy tests does not mean that they could determine if you were sensitive to PG unless they performed specific tests for PG sensitivity. But, since PG is found in lots of things we drink and eat then it "may" have shown up on an allergy test. So, there is a high probability that it is vape related........ On the other hand, it may not be... Keep trying your higher VG juice for awhile and if it doesn't help then it is probably something that is not vape related.

Thanks for the reply's, The liquids I was using were 70-80% PG as I say and the Nicotine was mostly 18mg... I am now using 11mg and may go even lower to be honest as I really only seek the satisfaction of blowing out ANY kind of vapor to serve my brains needs rather then needing the nicotine itself.. The allergy test were mostly for food related issues

I never had a rash, but your 70-80% pg could be a good cause of it. Again I'm not a doctor, I haven't heard much of this before.
The dodgy stomach and stuff happens to me either with too much nicotine. In my case 6mg in a dripper, or very sweet e-juices. When I vape unflavored I don't have this problem. I've had my hands covered in e-juice from leaky tanks dropping a bottle  This act has never made me sick personally.

I mix my own juice, and I found over time that I have no obvious sensitivity whatsoever to the 100mg concentrate. I don't bother wearing gloves, get it on my fingers all the time, and I've even put a ml or so on the palm of my hand to test it.

I've heard other people say that they get heat sensations from 100mg nic, and other "Nic OD" symptoms.

I recently spent two full days in airports and on planes. I applied a 24mg version of my favorite juice to my finger, then rubbed my inner lips. I was able to maintain my nic level, and had no adverse symptoms. I had never tried that until shortly before my flights when I was trying to figure out how I wanted to deal with the nic problem. I was, at that point, down to 3mg in my usual juice.

What I'm trying to say is that people vary widely in their tolerance for nic. And certainly there is a huge base of anecdotal evidence that some people are sensitive to PG, as has already been mentioned here. I think you are on the right course of action, reducing PG in favor of VG, and reducing "unnecessary" nic levels. You probably will only find the answer through trial and error.

All the symptoms you describe are symptoms of withdrawals as well. I got the shakes and muscle aches and a lil nauseous every time I tried to quit cold turkey. But I was coming from 2 packs a day or a lil more. And there are more addictive chemicals in analogs than just the nicotine. That may have something to do with it. Sir2 posted a great link up there about symptoms. Check it out and see if it helps.

These sound like withdrawal symptoms, I was a pack a day smoker and I can agree with the comments above that that despite nicotine levels staying up, your body goes through a lot of changes as it cleans out the 1001 other things that build up in your system over the years. Another suggestion however is perhaps to try a different brand/flavour of juice if you've been focused on one. Artificial flavors can often massive number of chemicals in them and while generally harmless, It's definitely the wild card in the vaping experience. It's been my experience that people can be affected in strange ways by things that have zero effect on others. An example from my personal experience (although unrelated symptoms) is Grandmaster by Five Pawns, within 5 minutes of vaping it I get an intense sinus headache, once I'd stop vaping it'd be gone completely within an hour. I'm not prone to headaches and I have never been allergic to anything in my life and this is the only juice that does it. 1000's of other people will vape that stuff and love it, for me it was a nightmare.

Just a quick thought here and wondering if anybody can clarify ... As you may be aware muscle twitching can come about due to a mag/cal imbalance so as Normal cigarettes deplete many vitamins and minerals from the body.. Will a e-cig work in the same manor I wonder?

I don't know this for a fact but it is my assumption that eciggs will not deplete vitamins and minerals. As far as the respiratory tract is concerned the PG in ejuice has a bit of anti viral properties to it. So, it would more than likely aid the body in killing off viruses and such. This would in turn boost your immune system as it would be busy taking care of other things. So, no, it is my assumption that it would not tear down your immune system like tobacco does.

Great! Only reason I thought it might is that I've just looked at the main reason tobacco does this is because of nicotine (nicotine is the real vit/min depleter here) so was thinking ecigs may still do it as they contain nicotine... I think I'm going to go 0% nic soon and see how things change / get better,,, I don't want to quit fully as I enjoy the taste of ecigs and I like the feeling of blowing out vapour (it aids in my cig ediction )

I have never read anything about nicotine either reducing or eliminating vitamins in the body. You may have read anti smoking propaganda as it's all over the place. It is a well known fact that smoking causes vitamin C to be depleted in the body and hence people get frequent colds (more so than non smokers)........ But if you ask me, this is caused from all of the toxins and other garbage in tobacco smoke. When you continually dump toxins in your body then your immune system has to work overtime trying to get rid of them. This in turn lowers your immunity and you get colds and respiratory infects of various sorts. Lots of folks here report that when they started vaping that they stopped getting colds. If you are concerned about nicotine then I suggest you look at many studies on the subject and don't just read one study. Lots of people who perform or report on those studies are anti tobacco people and ANYTHING related to tobacco gets slammed and lots of stuff is faulty data.

I know what you mean about blowing vaper and performing smoking rituals. Most of us here are the same way and it was vaping that allowed us to escape the toxic-chemical chains of tobacco.

When I started vaping I asked my Doctor and he was pleased. He said nicotine did not cause cancer or other infections. It is used in many cases for different meds, also it is found in many things we eat such as eggplant, tomatoes and etc. It is all the things in cigarettes that cause us to be nicotine addictive. They add so much to the cigarettes including the paper, which we get added to the combustion. So hang in there and as someone mention read about nicotine. I smoked a pack and half for over 30 years and had asmtha, so the mentol in what I smoked helped that condition. When one quits you have many different things going on with your body ridding you of all the bad things. I even had hyperventilation when I quit. I never picked up another cigarette when I purchased my ego starter kit and I am 100 percent better.. Hopefully you will find out what is bothering you. Hang in there.
