Issues with Kayfun Lite - Please help!

I've had my Kayfun Lite for a couple of weeks now, and just when I think I have it all figured out, it leaks almost an entire tank of juice all over my table! I'm so frustrated right now.

It always leaks a little bit, and I've experimented with wick size/thickness/length to figure out how to get it to leak less. I'll give you the info I can. This is what I do (although I wish I had pictures).

1. Take it apart and clean it under hot water. Dry with a paper towel.
2. Make sure the coil isn't touching the base above the air hole. This is the same coil that was built for me when I bought it at the local B&M. The guy built it at 1.1 ohms. I'm using an MVP 2.
3. Check ohms to make sure it's the same. Dry burn a few times.
4. Cut my wick from cotton and thread it through the coil. I leave it maybe about half an inch long until it's just about touching the top of the air chambers on each side, but not quite.
5. Wet with juice and fire.
6. Put everything together.
7. Fill from the bottom through the fill screw.
8. Vape, vape, vape...
9. Leak.

Probably a bad o-ring or you're using the plastic tank and it is cross threaded.

There should be an o ring between the chimney cap and top cap. Make sure it's still there and not split/cracked. Since it sounds like your tank leaked out, double check that the chimney and chimney cap are snugged down. Also double check that the o ring around the fill screw is still in place and in good shape. These were usually my source of leaks.

It looked like it had leaked from the air hole. That's where it always leaks from. I didn't actually see the leaking this time because I was eating my lunch. When I went for my MVP when was finished eating, I noticed juice all over.

It still has a little bit of juice in it, so I'm going to vape it until it's gone. Then I'll take it apart and check these things. When I checked the screw o ring a few hours ago, it was fine. I refilled it this morning without re-wicking. I've been trying to re-wick every other day or so.

The first o ring you mentioned, is that the one that's kind of stuck inside of the top cap?

Edited to add: I think this thing has potential, but I'm getting sick of messing with it. I really don't want to get rid of it because when it does vape well (like now, when it only has .5ml of juice left in it), it's a great vape.

If all o rings are in place and your tank isn't cross threaded you should only be leaking through the air hole due to flooding. I actually find it best that I use a little more wick than most people. What I do is take a cotton ball and make my wick, I then pull the wicks upward towards and sticking up kinda like bunny ears, I then screw on my chimney and cut my cotton wick flush with the top of the chimney, then I stuff the cotton into the chimney onto the bottom of the deck.

The only time I leak through the air hole is when I overfill or when the air control screw is completely out, I find if you unscrew the air adjustment all the way out it leaks. I really hope you get it sorted out!

It sounds like you have a bad o-ring causing a loss of vacuum in the tank. Check all your o-rings and replace if necessary.

I always bottom fill. You get A LOT MORE juice in the tank and it leaks a lot less.

I also re-read your initial post and noticed your running 1.1 ohms which will burn pretty hot and use more juice, which is fine but you also said you cut the wick just before it touches the bottom of the deck where the juice comes in. You want the wick to be touching that "juice well" so you can soak up the e juice effectively. You want just enough wick to soak up all the entering juice but not so much that you can't get a good wick. The juice coming into your coils probably doesn't have enough wick to soak up all the excess and leading to it leaking out through the air hole.

Do you top fill or bottom fill? I've tried both, but I've been mostly bottom filling for the last week and a half or so.

I do both. When my tank is empty and I just want a quick fill or when I make a new coil I fill from the top. If I'm just refilling casually I'll go through the bottom hole. Either way works for me and I always get a little leak through the airhole if I overfill.

This is what I was trying to explain how I wick my Kayfun. I was just to lazy to find a video lol. Thanks for that!

Also ncolwell, take the advice from everyone else. Check the o rings for any tears or even missing o rings. Don't worry with everyone here we can solve all your vape related problems.

Yep same here, I've tried a ton of wicking techniques and this one works best for me, all though like you said it does use more cotton but as long as it's not compressed and compacted it's not a problem

I watched this when I first got my KFL. I just watched it again. Maybe I'm not using enough wick. I will try the "bunny ears" method he does to see if that makes a difference.

I've had ongoing leaking/other problems with my KFL when I fill too much... even though I still have a significant air bubble it's somehow still an issue, and it won't stop with the intermittent leaking until the fill volume goes down enough. Different tank set-ups make a difference. I'm using a quartz nano tank now that doesn't have the same problem, but also partially blocks the fill hole, so filling without messing it up is a problem!
