**** UPDATE****

This problem has been fixed. It seems the atomizer's air hole on the cover was not big enough. I have since unscrewed the top cover a bit to let some air flow in and it has fixed this problem completely.

---------------------------------------------------

I got the phoenix today and I was very excited to try it.

The phoenix comes with a factory made coil and wick. Looking at it, it looks perfect.

I put some juice on the coil and just let it sizzle a bit.

I normally vape 24mg all day. I loaded up my atty with Nuke juice (Cinnamon, Menthol, Peach) - I thought my chest and face was going to explode. It was like I never vaped before.

Im getting this massive throat hit w/ a harsh flavor. Its not a dry atty or burning flavor, its a concentrated flavor that seems damp. Ill empty it out well and just vape whats on the wick. Its like there is juice mixing with my vapor.

Its like nothing I have ever experienced with a 510 or a 306 atty.

I tried this atomizer on different mods.. Tox VV, Bombshell, Joye 18650, The Bolt, Lavatube. I tried it at different voltages.

Is this normal? Am I just experiencing a more pure flavor? and i just have to get used to it?

If this is not normal - is this the break in period im experiencing?

Take out your drip tip and give it a burn, you should not see any glow...be sure to pay attention to where the coils enters the posts. If you see any glowing its going to taste gnarley, adjust the wick so it fully contacts the coil post to post. Also, the stock wicks for me and several others seem to be a bit tight and choke out the wick. If it looks prematurely gunked, clean it, give it dry burn to clear off the gunk and slip a needle between the coil and wick. With everything working even moderately proper, this thing is great tasting and freight train hitting.

Well FWIW a couple tips.

The best way to open the air inlet is with a small cone diamond burr.

Just work it by hand, testing and adjusting till it suits you.

The position of the air hole in relation to the coil has a significant effect. You don't want the air hole lined up with one of the posts.

Mark the base and get a small o-ring on it, this will allow some repositioning. After you figure out the best spot you can always duplicate it by looking at your mark.
