I've had mine for less than 24 hours, but putting on a tank is smooth as butter. I haven't yet encountered the thread issues with the 20w that many had, but I was always super careful. But with this, it doesn't feel like I need to be at all. So far so good, but I'll tinker with it a bit and post back here if I encounter anything.

I'm reminded of an expression I first heard many years ago. "He'd manage to ...... (screw) up an iron ball with a rubber mallet!" There always have been and always will be people that can manage to screw up the best of devices. I've seen it many times. They don't mean to, they're just mechanically 'challenged'.

There's still room though for a manufacturing defect. Wanna bet there's never been a Mercedes or even Rolls Royce delivered with an undiscovered manufacturing defect?

I've had my 30W only a few hours but know what to look for. I have not detected any weakness in the threads or otherwise. Only time will tell on the reliability of the circuitry but for now I'm totally pleased. All the weaknesses of the original 20W device seem to have been addressed.

I don't see anything on Vape NW's site about bad threads on the first batch. They have the Dirty 30 for sale at 39.99. I put 600 black ones in the shoppin cart successfully so evidently they have gotten a pretty big second batch in real quick.:) if I was them, I wouldn't have announced anything about bad threads if I wanted to sell a bunch!.

I think it's really unfair to single out the product of a particular vendor without at least providing a link to the source complaint or allegation.

I've yet to order anything from vapenw, but from what I've read on the iStick thread, vapenw seems like a reliable vendor that performed fairly well during the initial iStick buying frenzy. At times during the frenzy they also had some of the best offered prices.

If the allegation is true, fine. Let's take a look at it. If it's not, then to me this seems like an unfair attack on vapenw.

A Google search for "vapenw istick 510" brings up a link (2nd from the top) to vapenw with the following:

*ATTENTION: Some of our iStick 30W devices have deffective 510 threads due to manufacturer machining. If you are encountering a threading issue, please ...

Unless I missed it the statement is no longer at that link.

No problems with 30w threads here. No reason to believe I will have any.

I had a first batch iStick 20 and it had wonkered threads....all the others have been fine (7 others two gifts to family)

and some other folks had issues with those..maybe it's the same deal?

how's that spring loaded pin though? that's one of the issues I have with them (and MVP) hope they get it fixed

Just got my first bad one. Pink 30w from VapeNw. I went to attach my mini Nautilus and it would only turn once before resistance. Took mini off my MVP and tried it. Same.

I purchased from VapeNW before, no problems. Even bought one of my first 20w from them back when they started selling them on the bay. My 20's are fine, no thread issues.

I emailed them and this is their response:

"We are taking back the defective units. We do not pay for return shipping. The manufacturer sent us bad isticks we are working to resolve this issue. Please return to me and I can refund you or send out a new unit from our next batch to arrive that has the fixed 510 thread.
Thank you for choosing VapeNW." Sincerely Ian, (phone number)

So, I guess I'm not the only one! I just thought I would put this out there. I would have started a post, but I just joined. (been lurking for months tho!

I am confused though, they still are selling them, so a guess it's just a few with this problem?

I'm so disappointed. Think I'll return for refund and wait awhile. It's not as if I don't have any gear.

OP, Nothing like starting a Rumor without linking proper information.

Sounds to me like one vender recognizing a possible issue and taking care of customers.
The 510 threading is Stainless Steel. Not like the Chromed Brass of the 20w. This still does not guarantee no manufacturing defects will get through. It happens in practically every production business.

The spring pin has ample travel and works fine. It fires everything I've put on it every time.
