First post ever

I bought an istick 30w a few weeks back. In the first few weeks the battery has last 1-2 days

i vary between 1.2 ohm around 14 watts and a .5 ohm around 23 watts. id consider my vaping habits average to above average. I will chain vape time to time for about 15 minutes

the battery typically lasted 1-2 days tops.

recently I had an issues

Saturday 3/14.
My istick was reading high battery all morning. It dropped to about half by mid day, an hour later it was flashing very low battery suddenly with minimal usage, Maybe 4-5 vapes.
I charged it fully

Sunday 3/15.
Average use, battery seemed to read normally. By days end it read 20% left so I charged it fully.

Monday 3/16.
battery reads full all day with average use. By midnight it reads 80-90% full not much of a drop on the meter. no charge required

Tuesday 3/17
another average day of vaping... battery STILL reads 80-90% full, same as it did the day before with no charging

I still get great vapor production.
Im not sure if it became uncalibrated or suddenly lasts an entire week (which i doubt is the case)

is there a way to calibrate an istick battery?

i dont want this thing to vent on me by letting it drain fully each time due to a broken meter... or overcharge it due to the same broken meter... or if this is normal and its the greatest battery that was ever created in the existence of all that ever was, ever

some batts drop the topped off charge quickly and then run 3.7 for most of the time then drops down to the cutoff quick. the batts meters aren't smart enuf to give you the info correctly.

don't worry about venting, just let it cutoff when discharged fully and allow it to reach full charge and then cutoff. Most batts do this fine- no venting issues.

resets might be done by turning the V/W all the way down, then all the way up.

if you go by the Battery Full indicator, that's not enuf- you have to allow it to fully charge until the blinking batt disappears.

The charge level display doesn't seem to be highly accurate IMO.
Seems to jump from like 1/2 full to almost empty in a whisker sometimes.

Charging an Istick (lipo battery) frequently is best for long-term battery life.
Charging it every night, even if it shows 1/2 full is better.
The greater the depth-of-discharge, the shorter the life span of the battery.

When I first got my iStick 50, the battery seemed to last forever. I got it on a Saturday, had charged it up when I got home and by Thursday morning, the battery still showed more than half capacity. However, by Thursday afternoon, the battery had dropped down to less than 1/4. I don't know if the batteries in these mods are the same as cell phone batteries, but I know with cell phone batteries, it usually takes about 3 or 4 charges before the battery normalizes and you get a consistent life.

    thanks for all the input....

sooooo. its Wednesday....been vaping this morning, battery STILL at 75%.

the only thing i can think of is that my last charge was a more "efficient" way to charge.

normally i would plug it in around 10% to 20% percent.. the last time i charged it when it was flashing almost dead.
I THEN let it charge until the device shut itself off.
if the device is off while charging it shows a large battery icon "charging" in increments. typically it gets to a point where it appears full. it will blink an alternating pattern..full/dead/full/dead

i took this to read the battery is full. so would disconnect.

This LAST time i let it go PAST that point. It will do this stage for maybe half an hour, then the device shuts off entirely. no charge icon, no nothing.
buy charging to this point im getting waaaaaaaaaaaaaaay more battery life out of it. maybe 2 extra days

I can only recommend anyone with an istick to only charge once it flashes that the battery is very low, then charge until the device shuts off and stops charging. it has overcharge protection so overcharging isnt an issue. It extends the battery charge 2-4 fold
