iStick 30w question.

I just got a istick 30w from a friend last weekend who didnt want it anymore and so far I'm loving it, but the research iv done tells me that my istick has voltage range from 2.0v to 8.0v. My question is, what would make mine bottom out at 2.9v and max out at 7.1v?

My istick 30w has a range of 2.0 to 4.5 volts (5.7 to 30 watts) with a Gremlin RTA running 0.7 Ohms total with 2 coils.

Your coil package, or the coil itself, should provide the min and max range in watts for the coil.

A coil with a resistance of about 1.68033333Ω will make the voltage max out at 7.1V or 30W and will bottom out at 2.9V or 5W.

Yep. It's most definitely the coil resistance. 7V on a 1.6-ohm coil is 30W. With a higher resistance coil, you can go to 8V, but keep in mind, the iStick 30W is really a VW mod instead of a VV. It has voltage control, but the wattage is what is regulated. The voltage adjustment mode will only allow for the equivalent voltage of 5W-30W.

Don't worry about it you don't want any lower or higher than what you have. A good vape is usually in the 3.6-4.5 range.

theres some good ohms law calculators to work out the voltages based on ohms for various wattage levels, usually to get the maximum wattage you may need to build low but not always in regulated mods it can push past the 4.2v battery limit.
