eleaf I stick Pico 75 w/Melo 3 size 4ML
5 ohm coil new
windows shows 0.50 Ohm, 3.54V, 25W
E liquid "CLEAR" Blueberry.
When starting vape liquid is clear but after 15 or 20 vapes liquid starts turning red in color.
This has just starting doing this. Never did this before. Always stayed clear.
Any suggestions on what might be causing this color change?

I believe you failed to put in the decimal point in your second line. It's a 0.5 ohm coil. ;)

When heat is applied to e-liquid, especially one that is sweet, it will "carmalize" and turn the sweeteners in the e-liquid a different color. This is normal.

I bet if you look at your current coil after some time vaping, the cotton will no longer be white but will be darker in color. This is caused by carmalization of the e-liquid. It can also "gunk up" your coils.

Been using the Melo 3 for a while and this never happened before. Pretty much stuck to the Clear Blueberry all this time.
Can you clean a coil or do you just replace it.
Is there a big difference between the 0.3 ohm and the 0.5 ohm coil.
I might be wrong but I think this started when I installed the 0.5 ohm coil.
Thanks
Cleaning coil cartridges rather than replacing them is not particularly effective. It helps at least one or two times but it’s kind of a pita. Much easier to replace.

I agree with this. It's not very effective and the coils never taste or perform as well as a new coil.

I don't use that tank or coils, so I wouldn't know if there is much difference between the 0.3 or 0.5 ohm coils. That's only 0.2 ohms difference between the two. In general:

Lower Ohm Coils Will:
  • Heat The Coil Faster
  • Produce More Vapor
  • Drain The Battery Faster
  • Use E-Juice Faster
  • Produce A "Warmer" Tasting Vape
Higher Ohm Coils Will:
  • Heat The Coil Slower
  • Produce Less Vapor
  • Provide A “Cooler” Tasting Vape
  • Use Less E-Juice
  • Prolong Battery Life

Are these the coils that came with the kit? I'm just wondering if the .5 ohm coil is the Titanium version. I can't seem to find anywhere what the material is in those coils that come with the kit.

Edit: Never mind....finally found a review that states they are both Kanthal. So much for that potential theory.

Not sure why it worked but I removed the .05 ohm coil, cleaned the melo 3, installed a .03 ohm coil, used the same Blueberry juice and my problem went away. Been working for about a day and a half wit zero color change. This problem started when installing the .05 ohm coil. This was the .05 ohm coil that came in the kit.

This implies for some reason that coil was cooking your juice. Might be a general .5 coil thing, might just have been that particular coil. Alls well that ends well I guess
