Hi,

This is probably a really daft question for most, but I've just bought a cool Fire 4 Plus kit which came with the isub apex tank and some 0.5 ohm coils.

The coils say on them 20-30 watts, however I have always used the Volts to measure my previous Cool Fire 4 with a Nautilus tank. It was defaulted to Volts and ive never really explored the wattage alternative.

I'm currently vaping at 2.4 volts, which is a perfect hit for me. The issue is, this reads watts as 11.7ish which is lower than the 20-30 printed in the coil.

Is this ok?

The wattage listed on the coil is the MAXIMUM recommended wattage, based on the maker's assessment of the juice flow capability. If you exceed the max you are likely to get dry hits, and dry hits will burn the wick, shortening the coil life. And since the viscosity of eLiquid varies so much, there is no guarantee that the maker's max recommendation will work for you.

The lower the wattage, the less chance you have of dry hits and the longer the coil will last. If you go too low, and the coil and atty were designed for higher powered vaping, it is possible you may not get enough of a vape at too low of a power level. But you won't hurt the coil.

This is a very general suggestion, good for any and all tanks. I don't know your tank and coil so I have no opinion on specific minimum or maximum power.

You are a hero!! I am delighted to read someone has the sense to ignore the stupid 'rating' on the coils. Vape it how you like.
You can only improve coil life and battery life/drain.
I remember someone making fun of me once for vaping an iStick at 2.8 volts. They had just grabbed it off me questioning why it was lacking in cloud. I made out I was a newbie so I could gauge how patronizing they might be. Patronizing they were until I pulled out a Nemesis with a dripper out of my bag.
I had a cold.
