I so hoped to kick the analogs, but It's not working? It's been about 2 months now, and I keep trying to get used to my E-510 in between, I've tried all the cartridges it came with, & few flavors, presently I'm using the zero (none) cartridge with "slow cured" tobacco flavor drpped into the atty, it's kinda light, but that's not the problem, the taste is not as good as a Merit ultralight, it seems there's something missing, so I'm having no luck :(

No Nicotine? I was using 24-36mg. juice to get off the cigs! I do the drip thing, too. But I would really add some nic to your juice and keep looking, you'll find the juice that you need to get you over that hump. I read a ton of juice reviews and tried sample bottles from every where.
Hang in there and Good Luck!

Well, I would have say that this may not be for everyone and I wish you the best. I would recommend though.. since you have the 510... I would like to point you too the regular tobacco flavor at Totally Wicked ( 5mls for 6.99 last I checked )..... cut this 50/50 with usp pg or vg(flavorless).. and It is just like a lite cig. They also have a marlboro flavor that is good but taste is always subjective for everyone.

Just my $0.02 worth in an effort to help.

If you are not using a juice with nicotine you are not going to get a real strong hit of "cigareteness" regardless of the flavor of juice. you really need juice with nic in it at first. Then gradually decrease the nic strength. Keep at it and dont give up, the very first time I tried my ecig I ended up putting it in the box for 3 months. After I found this forum everything changed and I have been off analogs for 3 months. Good luck and do try using more nicotine, I really believe you will see a big difference immediately.

I agree with the others. If you aren't using nic in your juice, that's is probably why you haven't been able to drop the cigs. This is the best tool I've used to quit. I put down my cigs the first day I got my e-cig. Hang in there and try a few different levels to find what works for you. I would suggest getting atleast 24mg and if it's too strong you can always cut it down to a lower mg. Good luck.

I assume from what you say that you have a zero nicotine cartridge but you're dripping 'slow cured' juice (probably from stricklyejuice, right?) that has some nic in it. You very well might not be getting enough nicotine but it appears that the favor isn't getting it for you.

What flavors have you tried so far? I know I wasn't impressed with the 'slow cured' or the 'tennessee cured' from SE. There are a lot better tobacco flavors out there from many vendors but if you gave us an idea of what you've tried and didn't like, it might help with that part. Finding the right nicotine level is probably more important as far as staying off cigs but if the juice that's delivering it isn't any good - then the nicotine level is irrelevant. ;-) I doubt I would be vaping if there wasn't any flavor that I liked.

I think he meant he's direct dripping, using no cartridge (not no nicotine).

Rogue, you're really not going to find a flavor that's similar to the taste of smoke. That can be a tough hurdle initially, but if you can find a flavor you like (whether it's a tobacco-ish flavor or something entirely different) it'll work a lot better. Try some different flavors and different strengths. You'll eventually hit on something.

.

I think you're right 'zero (none) cartridge' I was thinking he had a kit that had high, med, low, zero cartridges and then got some juice... but you're right. My suggestions still applies though ;-)

Kent C is the 510 professor, he'll recommend what to do, lol.

Wow, that was pretty epic. Holy crap, Captain called it.

But on topic, give some 555/cigar or even a different flavored juice. Oh, and don't forget the nicotine for now. If you expect to kick the habit without weening yourself off, you're only going cold turkey. I only smoked 7-10 a day at most, but I still find I need at least 18 mg to even not consider grabbing an analog.

Don't worry about the nicotine addiction though, you're missing the alkaloids in the tobacco that make nicotine "that" much more addictive. There's no reward pathways being created in your brain by just nicotine straight (which is what makes nic and the habit, more so the habit actually, so much more addictive). Many people use snus with e-cigs to get those alkaloids to help them keep off analogs, give it a shot, but only after you get a good nic level in your juice and find that doesn't help.

Also, it's the actual smoke from the cigarette that causes the vast majority (by vast, I mean almost complete) of the health problems from tobacco.

Good luck!

Actually, it sounds like he's dripping AND using zero nic carts to me. Sounds like the problem is after he gets through the nic in the atty, he's vaping no-nic, or just vaping at such a low concentration, there's almost no nic (well, maybe just more like a 1-3 mg juice).

I agree with the recommendations of using some nic to start with.I to tried 0 nic first couple days then a got decent ecig used tobacco flavored pg at 18mg and was vaping away with no cigs. Hang in there. I smoked marlboro lights and mediums 2.5 packs a day. I tried and still use different flavors as the tobacco flavors got old. Don't give up vaping can work!

I'm sure we'll find out tomorrow - looks like it's a flavor thing first and likely a nicotine thing as well.

In my thread (have I got a good one) there is a chap who is also struggling to get a hit, I have posted a reply but mainly saying that for me the answer is to stay away from the tobacco flavours and to not try to replicate a cigarette..... I love the apple flavour from juicycigs.co.uk, or for christmas I got a bottle of mulled wine juice. I think my pleasure is coming from the enjoyment of different flavours rather than trying to emulate a cigarette........... yes, I am switching between 18-26mg strength and so obviously getting the nicotine, but I really try not to 'pretend' to smoke.... I have found that this works... have a think and let me know how you get on......

Just my $.05 ($.02 adjusted for inflation):

1. As everyone else has said, get some nicotine in your e-juice to start out with. Otherwise, you're just sucking through a straw.

2. Consider a hv mod to produce more vapor and/or throat hit. Does your 510 exhale like a real cigarette, and does it hit your throat like a stink stick? If so, disregard this. But, being a pack a day smoker for 20 years, I started out with a 6v copper because of these two points. I can get by with the spousal unit's 3.7v, but it's not quite the same. Her generic 510 stick, meh.

3. Stay away from large groups of people smoking indoors, especially with poor ventilation. If I'm with a few people smoking outside, no problem. But if I'm with 20 people smoking inside, I chain vape, and my spouse will break down and have a stink stick after a while.

For me the biggest part of being able to stop analogs was throat hit. I know you've received tons of suggestions here but I'll add mine anyway.

Get a good juice. I'd definitely suggest Eliquidplanet's new Essence line in the ELP-USA flavor. This is by far the closest I have tried to an analog and the throat hit from the high (16mg) strength is great.
If you really want to give this your best shot, consider getting a high voltage mod. I know that may be throwing money away but, I'll tell you, it makes the world of difference to me.

Good luck! :)
