.... or it could be some sort of allergy. I'm congested and have a cough though I don't feel particularly sick. I've had four bouts of bronchitis since the end of August - this time around, since I am not smoking whatever I have did not go straight down to my chest from day one!

Then again it could really be an allergy - perhaps brought on by some flavour that might be in my juice. This morning I cut some PG/VG ready to be mixed once my order of flavours comes in some time this week. Could I just vape it as it is to see whether what I have would clear up a little... and if I do will it taste yukky?

If you have all that congestion yet don't feel ill, it might just be the loosening and leaving of all the yuck that cigarette smoke left behind -- that affects the sinuses as much as the lungs, and my own sinuses took far longer to clear than my lungs did. It takes a while, but differs for everyone, as to when it starts, how bad it is, and how long it lasts. Try to force fluids of all kinds, that should help it leave faster. :thumb:

Coughing is how the lungs clean themselves, and most ex-smokers have a good bit of cleaning that needs doing. :D If you develop a fever, and/or swollen glands, and/or moderate-to-severe pain, then see a doctor ASAP. If you have none of that, the best thing is to try and promote the cough, with expectorant medicine (guaifenesin, it's an OTC expectorant, very cheap), and force the hell out of fluids -- water, juice, coconut water, jello, soup, decaf tea or coffee. That will thin down the congestion in your chest so you can get rid of it easier and faster.

But if you get any of those other symptoms, you might have an infection and should see a doc right away.

No Andria I have none of the symptoms of what I call being ill but here I am at 5:00am after tossing and turning in bed since midnight without sleeping a wink from the constant coughing. You might like to know that I am sipping on a large cup of hot water with honey and lemon. :)

Yeah, coughing that keeps you awake is about the only time I'll ever take a suppressant -- but that dextro stuff makes me ungodly nauseous, so I take like 1/5 of a mucinex DM; it just eases the compulsion enough that I can get to sleep.

But it's good that you don't seem to have any symptoms of infection, as bothersome as it is. Honey and lemon is supposed to help; I've found Constant Comment tea with honey to be very helpful.

I went through the same thing when I first started vaping and stopped smoking. I though I had the flue. I would be constantly congested, caughing up flem and have the feeling of flem constantly in my throat all without the fevorish symtoms. This stopped after a short period of time (1- 2- weeks). After that the weezing stopped my lungs felt clear and I was able to breath deeply which was something I could not do when smoking. I have never felt better. So just anticipate that soon you will breath easier and will feel better then you have ever felt. You are going through a form of cigarette withdrawel but the fact that you are vaping you do not see the sever NIC withdrawel but you are seeing your body getting rid of those cigarette toxins.
