I've let two people try my ecig and they've both said it feels like sandpaper in their throat. My wife tried a single puff of ecopure english toffee and reacted... badly. A friend of mine this weekend tried a couple different liquids and had the same response (tho much less dramatic then my wife). He couldn't vape the atomic fireball and could only tolerate the pina colada. So I gave him some ecopure yesterday and he seems okay with that but still says it's very harsh.

I've never really had much sensation in my throat with any vapor so I don't really understand what they're feeling. My friend is still interested in getting his own PV but my wife will never try it again.

Is that a normal reaction for a lot of people? Any suggestions?

Thanks,
UD.

I guess the confusion for me is that I don't detect any difference between the lower and higher nic liquids. I don't get much of what I'd call a throat hit from anything. If I let my pina colada run a little lean, I'll get some harshness, but that's about it.
I'll bring him some 12mg stuff tonight and see how that goes.

I agree about the nic strength being a large factor in the harshness. I have purchased quite a few different eliquids...strength and flavors, and do find they each deliver a different TH. Some liquids have a harshness to them while others are hardly noticeable.
The more I vaped the more I became accustomed to the jiuces and a lot of the harsh feelings diminished. Just like gayrd said at the beginning...remember what that first analog drag felt like?
Good luck to your friends......

I can attest to te fact that flavors in the same nic strength can be a major factor. I've been smoking Cotton Candy that tastes real good but can be harsh on the throat. The Chocolate Macadamia Nut is the complete opposite. I can hardly tell there is anything there. I just started some Cherry and this has a nice flavor and feels quite nice on the throat. These are all 24mg and all PG based.

A co-worker got a PV after I quit smoking and she coughs like crazy every time. We have tried 0 nic and lots of flavors, pg and vg and still coughs. I wish we knew the answer and I could help my friend, I don't want her to give up and go back to smoking.

How long has your co-worker been coughing? I coughed for like 3 weeks then it stopped.

Welcome to the ECF!!!

Number one, have them try a lower nic level. that will help with the harshness.

Number two, Drink more liquids or water, this will help with that sandpaper feeling.

Hope this helps, and god luck!! :)

I still have a hard time first thing in the morning. I have to take small puffs and work my way into it. I noticed that my friends who coughed were trying to use it like a cig. I don't know about the other models but with a 510 a fresh battery and dripping a high nic liquid I can see why a person would have a hard time.

For my friends that I have converted they all got the hang of taking a mouth hit and then inhaling what they needed.
