It happened, stop vapping it smells!

I haven't got mine yet, but I am curious as to how strong the smell will be. It's a lot less pungent than analog smoke, right? Could you rate the e-cig and analogs on a scale of 1-10 on strength of smell, 1 being the lowest and 10 being the highest?

I know that it will probably vary sue to various factors, but I'm looking for a general average.

Like I said before in another post. Totally wicked e-liquid seems not to have an after smell. I vape it in cars with non smokers all the time. I also have NHaler e-liquid that also does not seem to smell.

However when I'm mixing my own flavors....I tend to get it really thick with the flavor. Then even I seem to smell it a little bit.

Defendantly not as potent as a cig. In fact it didn't bother him in the house where there was more room in between us(My mix that he smelled).


It ALSO DOES NOT choke you out like Cig smoke does. I can't stand Cig smoke at all anymore.....

goddess there is no comparison. Burning tobacco stinks horribly and the smell lingers for hours. The smell from vaping is slight and is gone in a matter of seconds. If someone can smell your vaping they have to be all up in your face. Otherwise it's just another whining control freak trying to impose their will on you because they think they can.
so reek factor scale of 0-10 10 being horrible odor and 0 being does not stink
analog =10 (PU)
vape = 0 (don't smell bad at all)

But that damn RY4 (yuk) that I experimented with REEKS. Even I smell it strongly.

I got some ry4 from bestecig and it doesn't smell bad at all.

When we're in the car my husband can smell the RY4 and he loves it! He's commented on it a number of times, and he's an analog smoker!!

I can smell the vapor when my husband exhales. It smells of vanilla, or ry4. My neighbor says she smells vanilla when I exhale, but again it doesn't offend her, or give her an asthma attack. Also to smell it, one must be within 2 feet of the vaporer.

When I vaped on a car trip with my parents, tobacco chrerry and RY4. They didn't smell anything until I got to the RY4. They started talking about cotton candy and looking for where the fair was. They didn't figure it was me til I told them later.

my girlfriend likes the smell of it if she can even smell it... I went to a concert with a coworker of mine and he doesn't allow smoking in his car and doesn't like the smell of cigs, but he let me puff on my e-cig and didn't care, he said he couldn't even really smell it, I never blew the vape towards him either so that might help

I shown mine to the Campus Police at work, being pro active. One thought it smelled good, no one coments on it being bad. Every time I walk by them and a different officer is around they ask me to show it. They get a kick out of it. I still follow the smoking policy, rather than giving the analog smokers ideas.

i vape in my car during lunch breaks and the drive home...usually with the windows closed...my gf is anti everything and has commented on the smell of cotton candy and banana but never it being offensive...General rule of thumb impo..if you can taste the flavor on the exhale, people can smell it!

My girlfriend hates cigs but doesn't mind me vaping in her apartment. My coworkers at the office asked me to show them my e-cigs and stuck their faces in the vape when I exhaled and said it didn't smell.

I even turned the old dude in the office onto vaping. He picked up some cheapos at the mall and seems to be enjoying them. I'd try to explain where to get good ones but he's old and gets on my nerves.

The only one I vape that people can smell is RY4, some say it smells like cotton candy, others say raspberry. My husband says I smell like I just smoked a pipe! So that flavor isn't used when I am out and about.
Too bad as it's my second fav. Chocolate being first.

My brother claims he can smell the vapor, and that it makes his throat hurt and gives him a headache. I'm not sure if that's true, or if he's just jealous that I've managed to quit smoking, and he hasn't.

I mostly use menthol, which doesn't smell, as far as I'm aware. Lately I've also been using apple, which does smell - people will tell me it's a sweet smell, but they can't usually identify the flavor. I also have some strawberry-kiwi that will reek up a room in half a dozen puffs - it's REALLY strong - but I love the smell, so it's all good with me.

So I think we have it. Certain flavors give odors when vapping!

I'm vaping in my non-smoking BF's truck now with great delight. He can't smell it. Out of habit I always crack the window. In my own truck with no one but me, I like vaping with the windows rolled up and watching the "smoke" swirl around in the rays of sun.

My daughter detects a faint but pleasant smell and doesn't mind me vaping one bit.
