So I have been tossing around the idea of picking up the MVP 2.0 starter kit from Mtbakervapor and I noticed that it only comes with a USB cable and not an actual charger.

I emailed Mtbaker about it, and they said that it would be fine to connect it to an adriod charger...but I have read about the dangers of charging your batter on the wrong kind of charger...how do they know that charging the unit with a cell phone wall charger won't cause the batter to explode or catch fire?

It's not a charger - the charging circuit in this case is a part of the MVP itself. You are connecting it to a USB power supply and the concern there is that you don't under-power the MVP or else the charging circuit won't function correctly.

Any USB power supply that has a rated output current of 1000 mA (or 1 amp - same thing) or higher will be ok to use. If you don't know the output of your Android power supply check the fine print on that tiny ratings plate of the power supply.

And to add into what Rick said as someone who works At radioshack 99% of wall ends for phones are 1 Amp and the charging wall end I got with my MVP from my local shop was 500 Milliamps or 1/2 of what 99% of Phone ends are

The MVP just does not push enough wattage for most newer tanks so I dont use it much anymore.

That being said, I have charged my two mvps with cell phone chargers, tablet charges, gas station and dollar store chargers... you could probably take it to gilligans island and hook it up to the bamboo bicycle the professor built and charge it that way.

If an MVP meets your needs DO NOT HESITATE TO BUY ONE... I bet it would win a lifetime achievement award from vapers if there was such a thing... amazing little product.
