guys, the more you screw the ceramic housing on base, the better. There is no way for the o-ring to leak because you tight it too much

Hmm interesting.. there must be something else going on then because I screw the housing in VERY TIGHT to the base and liquid leaks out from the base hole (around the center post)
I look into the hole and it looks like the o-ring is smooshed in a strange way where there is an opening.

I will try a new o-ring first, though!

Come to think of it, maybe it's leaking because I started wrapping my nickel around the positive center post twice instead of just once (after watching some videos, I think Bishop does it [but with silver]) - maybe there is too much nickel under the O-ring now, and it's uneven? Next build I will use a new O-ring and only wrap around center post once (how I used to do it)
Not really sure why I even changed that, it worked ok with one wrap!

guys just wanted to share this..
i d earlier posted tht i was getting a burnt taste with certain liquids only. i tried all options suggested by our little gg family.
now i ve stopped getting tht burnt taste.
i was wrapping the coil very tight,
so with all the juices with which i was getting the burnt taste, i tried wrapping the coil not so tight, n this worked.
i m guessing all juices with 50/50 proportions dnt wick as well as each other, some wick better than the others even thgh their proportion is the same.
i m no expert but this is the only reason i can think of.
just thght id share this here, and contribute a liitle to this wonderfull community!

Maybe thats a reason sub. I always do one wrap around the center post

Hey guys, does anyone know where to get 1mm silica? I'd love to find some other sizes that aren't available at CoV.
I know you can remove strands, but I'd really love to find some smaller sizes (1mm-2.5mm)! I don't quite trust random eBay sales, unless someone has experience with a certain vendor.
Thanks!

Yeah, if the coil is really tight, the wick can't draw as much. It's much like wringing out a wet towel.

You can make a spacer out of piece of wire. Take a piece and fold it double, then spread it out a little and sandwich your wick in it. Wrap the coil tight around it, then pull out the wire. Something stiffer like 28 ga. is easier, but should work with something slimmer. It doesn't really have to be any particular type of wire if you can find something stiffer than your coil wire.

Lightningvapes on ebay. Been getting my 1mm silica from them. It's good silica. Doesn't fray and has no unusual taste to it like some silica.
