I turned basic feeding on today to see what it was like. i get a gurgling sound and a more airy draw. while i like the convenience of having it open, i dont think ill continue to use it this way unless i am using heavy VG juice. the hit is less consistent it seems.
anyone else have a similar experience?
As far as the gurgling goes are you using the short nut provided with your Ithaka? I never had with my high vg mixes and bf open to both channels. I have not tried and high pg mixes. You can try the the longer nut in the ceramic cup and check the gurgling action.

So I vape some pretty acidic fluids and have had no problem with the Ithaka window cracking or becoming brittle i realize pluid is a no no but it can handle some pretty harsh fluid. I'm just curious if anyone has experienced cracking and if so what were you vaping?

Thanks! I havent replaced the nut yet, and i believe i still have it. Whats the easiest way to replace? or is it pretty straight forward when i fully disassemble?

Omg i have broken 2 ceramic cups now..! I torch them with a torch and let em cool down. They looked fine, but when i made now coils and took ithaka apart, they were broken. Can it be that i made it to tight when i installed them in the ceramic holder? Or did i torch em to much?
I have also managed to press alot of the bottom oring out of the base. Im glad that the gg device is so well made, or else it will have all be broken in my hands :)

I have a little tip for my Fellow GG owners. I had brushed a few of the parts on my Ithaka (just to see what it looks likeand to "demagnetize" it from fingerprints) and the past week started missing the former mirrored glory. So I whipped out a tub or Mothers Crome and Mag Polish. About a half hour later (and some good ol elbow Greece ;)) Ithaka looked good as new.

I had a very heavy gurgle in my Ithaka when I first received it (I believe it has to do with our high elevation here in Wyoming). So I popped in the replacement nut and it cleared it right up. It still gets to gurgling if Im beast vaping but yeah it works great. Im rocking 3mm dual highlanders with Base feeding and juice control open 2 turns and still no gurgle. Hope this helps if you're considering it. To replace it I just pulled out the old nut dropped in the new and used the insides if a pent to hold it straight while I got it started. Then once it was started just gently pull down on the post while you tighten as it puts enough tension to tighten it up. Then use needle nose pliers as seen in Imeos videos again tugging downward to get it nice and snug. I recommend it especially if you are mountain dwellers like me :)

Using all the GG attys, I have never torched any of them. I also have never broken one. I rinse them upon use sometimes but, that is all.

Some DIY juice with approximately 0.3% TFA ripe banana flavor. I know this is hard to believe, but it left small cracks in the plastic. Good thing I had a spare and a steel window!

What is that pouch you have your mod in Shaketuga? That looks cool!

It's a Vatra 7" Coffin. I used to use it to carry my ahem spoons around in when I was younger. I found it the other day and after a thorough cleaning makes a perfect mod case I can fit my mod some juice and a couple batteries with no problem :). Plus its super padded as its made to protect glass. If you go on their website they even make actual mod cases now but here is a link to the coffin http://www.vatra.com/product/6-coffin/#.UiwEPMu9KK0

Where are the cracks starting? If it is down towards the nut that holds it in place I would say you might be over tightening it.

As for the center post o-ring coming out the base you are over tightening or you have the wrong size. Try not to crank it down so much just till you feel it give some resistance.
