When I receive my JustGG and Ithaka I will follow along with your video step by step for the first time Imeo! Can't wait!

That what I did.

I knew to make a coil by then but the first time I built Ithaka I did it with Imeo on the screen,
It is very good for the first time.
He make small things that are very importent to follow exactly, until you know for your self.
like puting the coil diagonal and only then thak each half to the other side,( it make a difrence )
Or to make at least 4 turns of a coil,
And to squize the silica coil good in the canal if you use 3 mm so they dont get damaged by the threeds
Of the basic feeding etc.
And more little things that save you alot of truble.
Only after you know this with close eyse it's up to you to make experiments.
I think that some pepole get truble becouse they try from the begining to make the complicate
Built and miss small things but importent.
Follow the video with your built exactly and make what he do exactly
and you will see for yourself, that you will come up with better result.
After a time it's all obviouse, but in the begining you can do some extra things that are no good, like
Wrapping the coil on th post 2 or 3 times instead of 1 thats its fine.
After you undersatand how the device is working its no more complicate compar to
Preparing a sandwitch.:)
In the sandwich thing can go very wrong:
To much mayo' and it will leak all over the place.
To much vegtable you will to open very big mouth.
To much hot sos some will need the fire department. I like this way!
In the end making coil for Ithaka is no more complicate then making a sandwich.
We know that the same sandwich on diffrent restorant can taste dffrent and thats becouse:
It's not the same restorant.:)

Can you please give details of the 6 wires you are referring to? Is this a build with 6 wires?

Haha no it was a dual coil I kept breaking them and messing them up in various ways. Needless to say I've learned to put s different atty on my pv while i wrap so I can Keep Calm and Vape On rather than "arrgghhha this one has to work so I can have a vape" even by the time I finally finished I still wasn't totally satisfied with the coils but couldn't handle waiting any longer :)

I suspect he means the 2 Res wires and the 4 Non-Res wires total of 6

I suppose that would be a total count of 18 individual wires if you pull em all apart. In my defense (and this is a total excuse but everyone has one :D) I zap my own wires and my welds don't always come out 100%. BTW anyone wanna buy a zapper...j/k

So I dunno what I'm doing wrong, but I get my ithaka set up and the first hour or so of vaping is great, but after that I begin to get a pretty bad burned taste. I've been using only dual coil setups, my next one I'm only going to wrap one coil and use an x cross over to see if that helps juice flow. I've tried using different juices, but the same effect ends up happening.

cut the wicks higher twil. Also dont leave your wire loosy around. But if you had burn taste after 1 hour of vaping, maybe you have to open mouthpiece a little more? Finally, do you burn your wick before put it on Ithaka?

Open mp more, don't wrap wire as tight, try 2mm wick. Ithaka doesn't like 3mm for me. Use a pin to do a wrap, wrap snug and remove pin. If you don't have 2mm, you can remove a couple strands.

I'll try the 2mm silica today. I already wrap the wires around a needle, I have some experience with Rba's. Am I supposed to leave some of the resistance wire hanging off? Or am I supposed to wrap the coil so there is NR wire on the wick?

I have tried fiddling with the mouthpiece twisting it about 2-3mm open although when I close it, is it supposed to draw in juice and flood the chamber? Because that's what's happening.

Also I am boiling the silica for 5 minutes, letting it dry and then doing a dry burn on it before putting juice on the wicks to make sure the coils are even. I'm not sure I want to try burning the silica because I only have access to an oxy-propane torch... Which can melt quartz glass tunes with a much higher melting temp than silica wick. Is this the recommended method for cleaning the wick before use?

Edit: I cut the wicks above the o-ring, or about even with it, is this the right way?

The cut is good at top of oring. Boil is good.
Wrap NR around if you want to be safe. If you leave R in ceramic it's still res that may glow. If at metal channel it'll ground sooner and lower the resistance. Either way is fine as long as you know what to expect. Leaving r in ceramic channel could cause issues.
Try adding a third wick at the top with the coil if single coil. Or even two if dual. The mp you need to find your sweet setting at. Under the flood stage and above the dry stage. But is basic feed open?

This is what Yankee is suggesting for the wick and he is correct, this helped me a ton.

I haven't had time to read all the suggestions, forgive me. I watched Scott's (igetcha69) video before I received my Ithaka, built it similar to his technique and have never had any problems whatsoever build after build... Not with dry hits, flooding, nothing. Hope this helps.

Exactly Idaho. I didn't have a picture and describing it is not always easy to do. Visual.
That setup in the picture can be done the way photographed AND crossed on X. If crossed, wires touch and it's fine. But you may have to work it down a little to make sure the top isn't too high and touches the MP.
