Idaho, does the fat wick at the top fit in the mouthpiece? I think I have 3mm silica atm and probably should use 2mm for a setup like that. Do you trim the wicks from that setup or use it as is? I'll check out that video when I get home tonight.

Twilight. The top shorter wick you trim to the edge of the housing. The longer drops into channels.

So I dunno what I'm doing wrong, but I get my ithaka set up and the first hour or so of vaping is great, but after that I begin to get a pretty bad burned taste. I've been using only dual coil setups, my next one I'm only going to wrap one coil and use an x cross over to see if that helps juice flow. I've tried using different juices, but the same effect ends up happening.

When I have gotten a burnt taste it either means I need to open the mouthpiece more or my center post is loose. Be sure to tight that really well.

Hi y'all. After following this thread for a while and seeing various videos, I finally succumbed and ordered the Ithaka. I am using a UFS because I got fed up with wicking 'n' wiring but as I say, I've succumbed. Anyway, one question: How long does a coil and wick usually last in the Ithaka say using a juice mix of 1 part VG to 3 parts PG? Any ideas?

p.s. that would be a single coil.

Congrats you will not be disappointed. My wicks usually last 3-5 days depending on what juice I vape. I could probably use them longer but I find the first 3 days is when the flavor and vapor are the best.

It really depends on your juice and your tastebuds. My first dual coil x lasted 2 months. Second build lasted over a month but I took it apart and couldn't get both coils back on because I had trimmed the excess wire. So I am now using one of the coils from my second x but only as a single coil. I tend to dry burn a couple times a week to clean up the wicks a bit.

Now my old favorite juice I couldn't get any wick or coil in any RBA to last more then 2-3 days.

That depends on the amount of juice also.
I change coils ones a week - +but thats becouse I run 4 Ithakas in paralel
with difrrents juices! So this come to no more then one refill per coil for me. Total run for 8 mls.
I did few tims 3 refill but thats was when I did not had more then 2 Ithakas.
(Evry hour or to I like to vape somthing els, thats me )
My wife using 2 Ithakas in paralel and it's holding for her ( or sould I say for me as I'm the one
who built the coils in the house :)) 2 weeks and she fill it 3 times so it give total run of 12 mls
But when you using the same one you may do this diffrent.
There is no hard lows hear only personal preference.
Me my self I dont mind once a week to seat one hour cleaning the Ithakas built 4 or 6 coils
it just fun for me.
Enjoy using the device and change coils whenever you think it's not good any more
or when you want to change e juice in it:)

3-5 days? wow. You may want to start growing your own Silica and wire tree and invest in a Zapper.
The wick and coil would just be breaking in. It doesnt hurt to have a bit of residue on the coil for taste and the wick should start wicking more efficiently in 3 days while it breaks in. I feel my wicks and coil work on a bell curve over time. Good - Better - Best - then a slow decline in wicking and flavor.

How long should they last? Maybe it's something I'm doing wrong (I hope :/)

I do rotate use of all my atomizers, but have been using my ithakas and one ody the most. I usually go at least a month or more. After each tank I rinse, let dry, dry burn, rinse and then use later in the rotation. I may go longer, but repalced around then do to wicking issues.

easiest way to change flavors quickly?

I like to rinse the rebuildable section ceramic, wick and wire assembled with the attached base and the rest of the assembled tank and evaporative chamber in 2 sections). I am far to ocd to mix flavors. Then again owning a few Ithakas or attys will prevent having to rinse. :)

easiest way to change flavors quickly?

Buy one more Ithaka. Unscrew the first Ithaka and put the second one on a JustGG!!!
For even quicker flavour change... have a second JustGG for the second Ithaka

WOW... Eventually I'm a very clever guy :D

One more excellent way is the one that I will show you in a video in about 1/2 hour levis. Ithaka is one of the best drippers and I discover it today after a Greek friend told me that some people still love drippers. I thought that we were in tank age but if people still like dripping for several reasons (easy change of flavor, or...... I dont know), Ithaka can do that easily. As I say on my video, Ithaka's design can do everything, thats why it got copied a lot from all modders. If you look around, almost all atomizers have a rebuildable part on the base of the atomizer with 2 cuts for liquid and a mouthpiece that screws around the rebuildable part.Even China uses this style like on protank if I know well.

I will put this video on Ithaka special tricks thread

to speak the truth, I havent tried this Idaho. But as I see it, we have more wick on coil and the gap between wicks is covered by the fat wicks. It looks a really nice setup!

Thanks Yankee, I will try it tonight because I have to change my coil
Exactly Imeo. I try and turn the wicks sideways so the short wicks face each other so there is no gap.
The wicks seem to hold more juice so each hit is full of vapor.

Exactly Idaho. I didn't have a picture and describing it is not always easy to do. Visual.
That setup in the picture can be done the way photographed AND crossed on X. If crossed, wires touch and it's fine. But you may have to work it down a little to make sure the top isn't too high and touches the MP.
I have been using what Bishop calls his dual highlander and have been Xing them. When I trim the small wicks I usually face them towards each other as I mentioned to Boss Imeo and I don't have much of a difference in taste or vapor. So my rampant case of ocd wants them neatly straight :).

Ok folks

I just got my first two Ithakas and I'm having flooding issues when it gets warm outside or the mods are in my pocket. I'm assuming it's expansion. I don't use the automatic juice feed system and all seals are good. I'll close the juice flow completely, clear the flood by blowing from the bottom, but as soon as I open the juice control even half a turn, it floods, gurgles and dumps juice on the mod.

Is there somewhere I can look for tips on solving this? I absolutely love these tanks and would hate to side-view them

Sent from my phone with an identity crisis.
