Wow! Ok. I do have to admit that I'm speechless. And as I'm sure many of you all know, that doesn't happen to me often. Hell, ask Jojo.

Reading all this honestly did out a huge smile on my face. It's been a culmination of events leading to this smile. I haven't enjoyed the Ithaka this much in a while. And the last week and a half or so I've actually had great pleasure vaping on it again.

Then all this tonight. Ever since I came to GG, I've loved the GG. Period. That's why it frustrated me to no end to have this happen.

Thank you all. And a very special thank you to Imeo. Jojo knew that I'd be regretting not getting in on the latest product release. To watch all this does remind me how special the GG family is.

Hi Folks,

I am having an ongoing problem with my Ithakas which I ordered right at the beginning when it was released.

Somewhere it leaks liquid to the outside and I am really unable to spot where. Also I experience occasional gurgling, especially after refilling.

Any tips for a solution?

Beside this I really love the beast. It is a great piece of engineering and probalbly one of the best toys I ever owned.

Best regards
Klaus

Leaking: take time and see from were it leak,
without it you will get many advice and maybe none will be the correct one.

However first thing to do is when you fill the tank keep juice control close
And air control open!

Gurgling:take you Ithaka out from the mod, close juice control and blow.
Clear the drop from bottom of center post and connect back.

Have vape.

Some time with old center post inside nut it happen,no big deal.
You can change it to new center post nut (smaller one) or stay with it, I prefer the old center post nut.

There must be some balance between your power of draw to the amount of air control open,
And juice control open.

If air control open a bit and juice control open a lot and you draw hard,
you'll end up fluiding the atty.

If anything els come with more specifics, and as always someone here will figure the correct
Solution.

First off, are you leaking anything into the collector tank? You may be leaking a little on the post if you're gurgling. But you'll need to try to determine if you are gurgling because your opening the juice control too much, or if it's a gurgle that seems to be generated by the ceramic tall nut. For this, you can switch to the shorter nut if you got one from your seller. If not, request it. It's not as tall.

Second. The leak on the outside. Wipe it down after a refill. Dry it off. Then observe it as you vape. Each time you pick it up take a look around. Run your finger and feel for juice. If you check the upper section and the lower section you may feel the tacky juice before you really see anything.

There are two spots that I would look at. The seam above the window and the base seam below the window. It's a good chance that a larger oring at both these places would help seal that off.

What is the best silica to use with Ithaka? Can anyone recommend a source that is in stock now? Thanks!

Imeo 3mm Silica Wick

There you go Steve.

It's 3mm and in stock from official GG supplier: COV
Regarding the best you'll need to experiment a little ( it's part of the fun).
Try the 3mm and if you take one strand out you'll have 2.5mm.

The nail is 1.7mm (1/16). Finishing nail. Just bend it where you're comfortable working with it. I also have one double bent nail that stays in really nice, but when I stack them, the bottom can be hard to remove without disrupting the top coil.
It's a pair of 1.5 premades for now. Had to see if I could finally pull it off and how to manage it so I can remove the cotton. At some point I'm going to setup dual micro likely using this method.
This isn't housing cotton yarn. It actually has a small amount of the organic cotton ball torn off in each coil. They threaded in just fine so so hope they will be just as easy to replace.
I also left the tails of the cotton a little longer to protect the pos wire.
Yummy
