If a company in China has the correct tools, quality materials, and workers with the skills to manufacture your designs, why not use them? I'm sure you could find the same qualities from companies in Europe, USA etc. Just might take you a while to find the right one somewhere in the world. Wouldn't bother me where the parts/items were manufactured if the quality was good.

I think what was being compared here was what HAPPENS when China attempts to re-create a quality device - regardless of quality. NOT one device to another.

Please don't compare did genesis to this.

Gen DiD something that is less than 5-10 bucks to make your going to get a 10-15 dollar kind of job quality. I have to agree I personally hate china's work ethics and lack of huge quality control. Yet I still believe in Imeos quality control and he will hammer the hell out of the device. .... if i lived in Greece i would put all the devices in a major dual highlander setup and help test that thoroughly just to help.

I think the biggest problem with manufacturing in China comes when you order in high quantities. If the factory gets behind they might outsource and/or lower standards to try and get the order filled as cheap as possible. Some companies are great for 100 but ask them for 1000 and they'll happily take the order whether they can actually fill it or not and then struggle to get it done.

There's also people with high standards who won't over promise. As with everything it's all about finding the diamond in the rough.

I personally would never want to see my gg products be mass produced in China. Part of the wonderful mystique of using the gg attys is knowing that they were skillfully crafted by the ever so talented Greeks.

Golden Greek is the name not Golden Greek ...produced in china.

Just my humble opinion

It started with Imeo saying he wants to find a manufacturer so that he can have all of his ideas working instead of just sitting on paper. I would love to see what else he could come up with if he had a squad of machines ready to go whenever he needed/wanted.

Yea but when you buy china you get what you pay for....I go way out of my way to make sure I have as little as I can get from china. I would rather pay the extra price and have the real thing.

Yes, I'd love to get another Penelope while I am waiting for the Ithaka! Hope they'll be available again soon ...

Also, Imeo, I was talking with Justin @ COV and I suggested to him that it would be very nice to have a re-build "kit" available for the Penelope. If I could buy a center post, the ceramic, the ceramic nut, the ceramic steel housing, the bottom O-ring, the plastic washer, and the knurled ring all together in one package it would be great! That way, I could have one or two fully-completed coil assemblies ready to just "drop in", for those occasions when I need a new coil but don't have time or material right at that moment to wrap up a new one ... I don't know if this is possible, but if so, I think it would be a big seller (not that you have any worries about that! ) ... I know I'd buy two or three ... just thinking out loud.

I second the Penelope rebuild kit idea. I can buy everything except for the center post.
