Thanks for that. Would probably be looking for around 1.5ohms overall with 2 coils to avoid draining the batteries too quick. Maybe using .15 kanthal will be a good option. With .20 nichrome there will be too many wraps maybe.

Just a heads up you may know this already. You can go lower, I do .6-.7 dual coils with a 18650 High drain battery aw imr or the new ones im testing is the MNKE high energy battery.

Using say 18350 small size will not be safe any dual coils lower than 1.4. it cant handle the power right and if its a generic battery it can go boom.

better stock on mesh too ill be using .16mm on wire.

I been working on Dual coils using .16mm on mesh. I been also working on a heavier hotter coil build thanks to Capt Steve and Manos for helping me select a much better stronger battery than AW IMR which has been helping me with a different coil build.

.16? What's that translate to? Have several size from 28 to 36 gauge.

Ody's rebuildable part fits on Ithaka's GGTS base and Ithaka's rebuildable part fits on Ody's GGTS base Steve lol

But if we use a 510 base for Ody or 510 base for Ithaka then rebuildable parts dont fit because they have different pins in length

What if we just use Ithaka's ceramic and housing with the Ody pin and nut. would it work in an Ody?

If that is the case, then I need 2 more ceramics and ceramic housings for Ithaka.

Quick question..

If I made what I normally make.. say 1.7/6/5 ohms coil x2 and slap them on. What's the result ? Will it be 1.7/6/5ohms or double that?

Surely I don't have to make 2 x 0.7 ohms to get to 1.5ohms.

Sorry for the dumb question. Just want to keep up. Then I can delve into Bishops and everyones vid's and start having some fun also.

Cheers..

When you use 2/1.7 phm coils it will cut the ohms in half 0.85 ohms.
If you want 1.7 ohms make 2/3.4 ohm coils to acheive 1.7 ohms. Its easy math, just dividing instead of multiplying the individual coils.

Guys from what I've seen till now single 18650's simply don't have the output that low res dual coils demand. The performance is good on a freshly charged high drain 15C IMR but performance quickly drops off once the battery drops below 4v.

This is the main reason I am soo eager for some kind of power/voltage controll for GG.

If I want 1.2 ohm dual coil on Ithaka, I will have to make 2 coils reading 2,4 ohm
Is this correct?

I think this will be safe for 18350 or 18500 imr baterry?

you are right, the same principle applies if you create a single coil using a coil 0.16 and you wrap with another 0.16, you get a diameter 0.32 and then you have a resistance value halved

about safety
Power (measured in watts) is the intensity of the vape. 6-8 watts is the “sweet spot” for most vapers.

Current (measured in amps) is what can burn out atomizers. Roughly speaking: around 1.5 amps is fine; 2.0+ amps is risky.

you can use a ohm calculator online to verify

Ithaka's rebuildable part works on Ody but only with its GGTS base kei

We agree here Steve. Thats why I said that that dual coils work well on 6 volts. 18650 is not enough to feed a dual coil. You need kick on GGTS to have a great dual vape

Basically yes.
Why would people Do make DC's elludes me since atleast in Ody the best setup was with the pre-made 1.5 single coil.

Just to have more options Troll. Dual coils with a battery that can handle the nessesary current is better than a single coil but volts have to be raised

I have been super happy with my Ody, but am a little concerned by what I am reading here.

I am using dual or highlander coils at 0.9 ohms on a single 18650 AW IMR and sometimes a 18500. Is this safe?

Sounds like I would be better off going to 6V and increasing my resistance. What kind of battery life can be expected with the 3v x 2 cells relative to the single 18650?

I go through batteries like crazy right now, but have found my comfortable vape. I don't mind all the charging, but want to make sure I'm being safe.
