So I think I found my single coil build for Ithaka.

2 wicks, removing 3 strands from each 3.5 mm silica wick. 4 wraps of 30 gauge kanthal comes out to about 1.4 ohms, right about where I have been building all my coils. Basic feeding is set for half of one wick. Nice, warm, flavorful at 3.4 volts.

I tried using 2 wicks of 3.5 mm wick at the coil and it just seemed like to much wick. It worked just fine, no issues, but just seemed like a lot. Can there be to much wick at the coil?

So, anybody have an idea what size the wick is with 3 strands removed? Not a big deal to take them off since I have a lot of it, but in the future may order some size specific for the ithaka so i don't have to remove strands or trim strands from the channels.

Next build will be trying out dual coils I believe, as I think I have exhausted the single coil build options, straight in one channel, diagonal across channels and now 2 wicks single coils.

Hi guys,
I received my Ithaka couple of days ago and I am very satisfied with it. It's amazing device and works perfectly (thanks Imeo :) )
I found that I am missing o-ring on basic feeding part and as I read in o-ring guide it's not necessary but I saw many photos and videos and people have it included.
How it comes that someone have in and someone not?

So I'm having a hard time vaping with out getting a dry hit. I have the mouthpiece opened up all the way and I'm using 70 30 pg vg juice. I have a dual wick .8 ohm single coil. I almost think that pressure is building up inside preventing the juice from wicking or something. I'm not sure what is going on. Any help would be great.

ok, here is where it gets confusing for me... I build a perfect coil and it vapes excellent only for 24 hours, snd then it loses its performance in terms of vapor production, flavor, and it also starts gurgling...

so i disassemble my ithaka to find a lot of gunk on the wick and coil area. this might have nothing to do with ithaka, but i would appreciate anyone's support here. I make my own DIY juice. it is RY4 from wizardlabs. 70/30 mixed with the ry4 flavor concentare. can anyone give me an explanation of what is happening here? do you know any better alternatives to that ry4 flavor concentrate?

thanks

Most sweet flavours and or dark juice will do this, especially Naturally Tobaccos. I for one, would not want to give up my favourite tobaccos no matter what. Even if it means that I have to clean my wicks after each tank. You might get yourself some extra Ithaka rebuildable parts so you can do what I do with my Ody. I have one extra unit for each Ody so when one wick gets dirty I pop it out and pop on the clean one and no down time. In the mean time I soak my dirty one in hot tap water and do a dry burn on an extra base.

I know thats seems like a lot of work, but it beats going thru 2-4 cartomizers a day. I actually got my first Ody just for my good "dirty" tobacco NET juices.

With my light fruity/minty flavours I can go days, almost a week before cleaning.

Try un-weaving one strand from your wicks when you rebuild, just one strand removed should make a noticeable difference. This will allow juice to wick faster, which with a low ohm coil could be all you need to fix it.

ana's advice is good. Dry-burning or rebuilding is all you can really do when you're using a juice that gunks up like that. Every RY4 I've ever used has been prone to doing that, so I can't offer any alternative suggestions

Thanks for the tip. I'll try that next time. I used 3mm for the wick. Funny thing is I've never had these problems with the ODY or Penelope.

If I move the mouthpiece up and down I see air bubbles. After this it feeds juice to the wick for a few vapes then it gets dry again then I have to repeat.

Try opening basic feeding to both wicks. If parallel wick, best if the two wicks touch each other to help feed each other, I get good results with 3mm parallel doubled up on top. You might also want to try loosening small top cap to help ease vacuum.

Edit: reread that you are on single coil.

Sounds like there is too much concentrate in the juice. Are you using more than 15% concentrate per batch?

Pluid is not compatible with clear window of Ithaka Ry. Pluid destroyed the window in 4 hours.

I just wonder how a e-liquid that melts or cracks all kinds of plastic tanks , can be good for you to vape. What does it do to your lungs and blood vessels ? It does not seem like a good idea to me to vape a e-liquid like that. But , I don't know anything about them kind of juices , I'm a tobacco guy , like cigarettes , pipe , cigars , chew , snuff , ect.... And I never had any problems with Kir Fanis plastic tanks , or Imeo's.

There's no harm in vaping pluid. It's the anise that reacts with plastic, just like some citrus, cinnamon and cola juices.
