Just set up a dual coil in an x config and I am blown off my socks!!!! Thank you Imeo!!! I'm sorry it took me 3 days to say it. Best atty ever. This thing was built for dual coil. Never done a dual until now and I have a head rush that can't go away!!!! You are the best my friend. Thanks so much for the videos and the Ithaka!!!!

All the best to you and yours,

Chris

I'm using a pretty similar setup. Single 30g, @1.5 coil wrapped around dual Ekowool (My fav wick!) 2mm wicks side by side. Basic feeding also on both wicks and mouthpiece open a single turn. It works great.
My first attempt I tried X wicks with dual coils @1.5 and it didn't produce as good as the single coil until I stacked a couple batteries and vaped at 7+ volts. I'm much happier with the single!

I am getting nice clouds with a single coil setup with flat kanthal and 2 mm ekowool. no leaks at all, basic feeding is on both wicks, mouthpiece open a couple of turns.

I tried a dual coil in parallel for 0.8 ohms but was getting some dry hits. I'll try again next week since it was probably user error

In a few days you will master it tim my friend. Its not a simple atty so you need some days to fully understand it:)

After reading this thread and reading Imeo's responses, I'm convinced I want to jump on the GG bandwagon and find out what I'm missing out on. I like Imeo's involvement with the community, I really believe from what I'm seeing that he's really customer driven and I'm excited with his passion and dedication with producing nothing less than a top notch product.

Ithaka order placed. :D

A friend from another forum sent me some organic cotton wick, so I tore apart my dual wick, single coil silica build, and built my first ever double coil. 4 wicks, 2 coils, vape heaven. Not the prettiest build, but I hope to get better with some practice.

Before assembling, I trimmed off the wicks as flush as possible to the bottom, then stuffed the little bit showing up into the cavities with a fat paperclip. Yum.

Ithaka ordered through Clouds of Vapor as soon as they became available.

My theory, why waste money on crap gear then finally move to the best companies? When you add up all your vivi novas, cartomizers etc. go thought the frustration with those, you will have spent what an Ithaka would have cost.

Beautiful work Imeo

Thanks a lot prong my friend:) We disagree were you say that if you add the cost of all the other cheap stuff you reach the price of Ithaka. What I think that if you add the cost of the other stuff then the cost is 5 times more than Ithaka! (exept the frustration of course) :)

Does it matter if the coils from the two wicks are touching in builds like this? Is it better to lay a separate peice of wick between the two coils so that they do not touch? Would there be any difference in performance either way?

From what I hear from everyone else, it's perfectly ok to have the coils touching on Ithaka.
I won't pretend to know anything technical about why it's ok, but I think it's just a matter of the current taking the path of least resistance.

Great to hear that pl.:)
Ithaka 0126 delivered a couple of hours ago :)

even though this is my first ever silica wick rebuildable, setting it up was a breeze: you did a really great job, Imeo! :)
single coil X style wicks using what comes with the Ithaka on a Provari Mini

now all I need is a Stealth ;-)
